Default Steering Wheel, Airbag & Horn
The Bug/Hawk conversion doesn't have a working horn. This was pointed out and suggested I replace the fuse. However, fuse and relay are both OK and after taking the steering wheel off this morning I found nothing had been connected!





Does anyone have any experience of this type of wiring? Also the ribbon cable looks a little fragile in the 3rd pic.

I'd imagine the single wire is the live feed to the circ, and the wheel earths its self out. I'd just lop that connector off and make your own.

Single wire in pic1 coming from the back of the airbag part? Connect it to where?

I would grab my hawk wheel out of the R, but its all tied down at the mo. When the winds gone I'll get it out and photo it for you.

Had a look today, the single wire is for the horn. Its the live feed, the whole unit earths its self out on the steering column, so when you press the centre of the wheel...circuit complete.

Thanks! Do you know which, if any, of the wires in pic 2 the live feed connects to?

Fitted a replacement clock spring and have been able to connect the horn so at least that works!!

The airbag lead though is missing, so I'm unable to make that connection....

The airbag lead requires a very unique connector to the airbag units aswell.
As it's pushed in you force a retaining yellow plastic back clip/assembly in which I think actually pushes the pins through.
Just pushing the connector on is not enough.
