Default Tempest Rally 2010 - Photos

Another good days rally action, weather stayed lovely all day. Thought i'd bring you guys back some good photos so we can make a definate effort to get there next year with some numbers

Good to see some of the Surrey bunch again too

Longmoor:

Then I moved onto Warren - got chatting to the marshal who recommended a quick walk down the stage to this point - a lovely fast right-left sweeper with two fences on the exit just to catch out anyone who got it wrong!

And finally, the jump on the Ash stage

Bloody hell mate, did you sleep last night or just spend the whole evening sorting pictures?!

Lots of good pictures in there, but I have to say this is my fave:

Was a really nice spot. Think next year i'll probably pay my tenner for the Speccy car parks and then just move between Warren and Yateley all day. Done Longmoor and Ash two years in a row now and think i'll go looking for something different next year. Also wasn't as impressed with Longmoor this year.

The surface at Warren seemed more loose as well, so combined with the close Autumn trees it made a great stage for photos. Was also surprised at how few speccies were actually up there.

No worries mate, next local(ish) one is Sunseeker next Feb, down Bournemouth way if you still want to get along to one. It'll be Round 1 of the British Rally Championship

Its funny you say that about Warren as I thought it was better there last year when the cars were running the other way. I daresay that was the problem with the section of Longmoor we were at, as I reckon it was better to watch at that corner when the cars were heading the other way? Agree that Warren is a much prettier stage for photographs though!

I think I will focus on Warren and Ash next year; loads of places to park, lots of good spots to shoot from and nice and close together!

Bit late, but a few more pictures to add to the thread. Sadly I didn't get many of the jump as it was getting dark and I couldn't get my camera to play ball.

Still, a few pictures did come out, so enjoy!

And finally one of the many jump shots that didn't come out, but I thought I'd stick it up anyway:

Sorry for the double post, but I've just been cleaning my camera off, and I found a couple of gratuitous bush shots, so I thought I'd add them to them thread...

...well don't look at me like that. What kind of bush were you expecting?...

Some awesome pictures there , much better than anything im capable of!

I was at the marshalling post just up from the jump at Ash

Not really meant to use a camera but sneaked one or two pics...

Best of the bunch was this one:

and 9 days later i still have a big bruise from a flying stone as the 4WD's went through - Ouch! - worth it though

Roll on Sunseeker early next year.

Kylie.

Its just not a day out at a rally unless you get hit by a rock!

There is suppose to be a "new" rally at Brands Hatch at the end of January as well - should be a good warm up for Sunseeker!

Really?? Not heard about this yet..... but then i haven't been on the rallying forums since last Wednesday. What have you heard?

Cool. I'd heard that they were short of marshals for Ash, hence it being shortened this year. Might have to help out next year.

There's always someone who has to lower the tone of a respectable forum like this

I've only caught bits and pieces of information in the last month or so (mostly from the Ten-Tenths forum), but at the moment the TRS (Essex) Ltd Brands Hatch Stages are planned for Sunday 30th January.

The rally will use parts of the Indy circuit and the surrounding roads (presumably the forest area used by the rally school?). No entry list yet - the event is still not 100% confirmed - but they reckon there has been enough interest to run it, so fingers crossed.

I understand a draft stage map appeared in the last Motorsport News, but I didn't manage to grab a copy. As and when I find more definate info I'll let you know!
