Default SES Trackday - Brands Hatch 2011 - Take 2!

Right, time to get this back on track!

Having spoken to ClubMSV again today, the best option for us is Thursday 14th April. This is a 2 hr 30 min evening open pit lane session for £119, so spend as much or as little time as you like on circuit.

Currently there is plenty of availability on this date, as the evening was reserved for another club who have now decided not to take up the booking. Timetable for the evening is as follows:

15:30 Arrival & signing on
16:30 Driver briefing
17:30 Sighting Laps
20:00 Track Time Ends

- The session has a 102db noise limit (same as last year).
- This is NOT a novice only session. Novices are welcome but anyone can register, no matter how many previous trackdays they have done.
- We get a 10% discount and reserved garages if we get of group of 10 people (not sure how likely this is yet). However, if we do get 10 then we need to book over the phone after i've arranged the group details with ClubMSV - so don't book online yet

Names on list please!

How loud were you last year when you got tested? I remember we were all quite a bit less than we thought we would be!

Anyone else fancy this?

Doh, thats a shame Greg. Have you still got the credit to use? I'm pretty sure its just a code to enter online, so it might be worth checking to see if its transferrable to someone else going in return for cash? I know the credits run out by December if not used.

Somehow ('friendly meter I think!!) they just about gave me a pass with the bung in but thought I may struggle on a drive-by... But I'd rather not run it with the bung anyway so I'll hopefully sort something less restrictive out.

Nope, not Subaru only - you're more than welcome to come along with us

Not as part of this day. The initial poll showed most people wanting to do an open pit session rather than 20 minute sessions - so I went with the majority.

The 20 minute sessions were very popular last year, but I think that was also because people wanted to come along and be part of the photoshoot on the Brands grid - something we aren't doing this time.

It's possible that I could pop along but it's unlikely that anyone will lend me a Scooby, so it will be a little plastic car.

Added James the the list as well cos he wasn't on it. Doesn't look like we'll get to the 10 places we need to get 10% discount so we should probably just get this booked individually - everyone happy to do this now?

Bit worried I won't have the oil cooler fitted in time so may be a case of a few laps then in every time the oil gets hot! But otherwise good to go!

Well.... what an evening that was.

Some lovely cars out there, some of them seriously quick! Much preferred the open pit lane format to the 20 minute sessions we did last year - more freedom to go out when i wanted and for however long i wanted.

The scoob did a great job, brakes were always going to struggle but they actually seemed to get better and better (i assume as the pads put more deposits on the discs?) until they started to fade about 20 minutes into a run.

Managed to get smoke pouring off the rears when coming back to the pits so at least they were getting a good workout Would definatey recommend the £25 instruction, lasted about 20 minutes (then a 15 minute chat about lines/techniques) and definately helps.

Cheers to Nick for the few laps in your car, although i feel i need to apologise too. My heavy arse must have contributed to your problem - it seemed fine with Sian in the car!! Glad you got home ok and hope its quickly sorted.

Don't think anyone was taking pics so i'll have to have a look at the Brand's photography guys and see what they got.

No idea... its not about the times.

The plan wasn't to push hard to improve times, thats when mistakes happen. All i can say is that they definately improved through the evening

Very enjoyable night.
Nick, glad our little bodge got you home.
Steve considering your on standard 4 pots you were giving it plenty, hats off to you for making the most out of your time.

The eveing was so chilled out, no rushing, plenty of time to let the car cool down.
Evening open pit lane is def the way to go.
Both yours and nicks cars sounded sweet.
I did get 1 vid of you passing down the start finish straight.
