Default PC World - Fookin useless

I am just heading into PC world tunbridge wells, look out manager im after blood.

I purchased 2 lap tops 2 years ago, not cheap rubbish either, over £1300 for both.
I took out a fully comprehensive cover, which costs me £15 a month

One of them has had some fatal blue screens,i managed to get it up and running in safe mode and did some repairs, still no good, so i did a restore to previous point. Still no good.

Ok, time to make use of the insurance cover.
Called the help line and explained to them that i desperately need data recovery prior to repair.
They said to take it into the store and book it in. so i took the lap top and my portable HD for storage, this was over a week ago, i was told, no problem sir, we will send it off for data recovery and repair.
I made it clear that if they cant get it done before 30th Aug then i will take it to a high street repair shop, as its crucial that i have the data off prior to this date.
They said it would be no more than 3 days as this is in the policy, and that they would keep me updated.

I called the repair number today, they said sorry we have no record, so i called the store direct, they said they would call me back, to cut a long story short, after many phone calls, its still sat at Tunbridge Wells, not even been looked at.

I may end up locked up tonight,as im fuming.

mate should have run Recuva yourself before going to PCWorld you can download it for free http://www.piriform.com/recuva

I've got a copy of Recovermyfiles on disc here somewhere that does the job very well too

I've spent half my life telling people how bad PC World is. It's by far the worst chain of shops out there. Fooking useless bunch.

If you go there and ask their advice for products the staff are taught to recommend laptops like "Advent" or similar. These products are their own brand which they buy in from China for about a quid.

Comet are the total opposite as their staff seem to be more honest and appear to be trained rather well. I have never had issues buying from Comet.

Rons link should work but if you are in the 5hit Martin I have a guy that has built my computers for many years and he may be ale to assist you.

NEVER us PC World......... I cant believe the mob are still trading to be honest, they are that bad.

I wouldn't be too confident about PC World recovering any data. I know a couple of people who tried and were told the data was too far gone. Thereafter when they got someone with a bit of knowledge to look at them they had more positive results.

Given they have already wasted your time, I'd pick them up and look at alternative options for recovery. Chances are in another week or so they will only tell you they can't help anyway.

Whatever you do, hope you manage to recover the data.

The last time I went in there a guy I asked a guy for some help. He had the word 'manager' on a badge, pinned to his shirt. His reply was "let me find somebody that deals with computers that can help"!!!!! Priceless!.
