Love the mexico...was considering selling the sccob for a MK1 a short while ago.
lways fancies a powder blue or orange Mexico or RS2000.

But when I saw what I would have to pay for a good one, decided to stick with the scoob.

Beautifull cars ! I, being on the older side was lucky enough to have owned several, a Mk 1 Mex (lime green and black strips)
Mk 1 Rs 2000, Mk 1 Lotus twin cam, ( I wish I had never sold this one! ) Mk 2 Rs 2000 ( Flat front 220 bhp ) and a Mk 2000.
Really great cars. My mate is in the process a complete rebuild on his Mk 2, can't wait to drive it !

Was thinking the same Scott a few years ago, but as you say they are silly prices now for a mint one.

Have had 3 Mk1's in the past and loved all 3 of them

Wonderful - loving the van too. Used to have a mk1 mexico with the strengthened shell, yellow and black - sweetest gearbox ever!

Gonna start my own thread now!

I know what you mean scott. It would be lovely to have one tucked away for nice days. There is just something about them (probably hanging on to my youth!). As you said though, a good one is still big money. When I think I sold a MK1 Rs2000 in 1989 for £1700, gutted!. Yellow with orange stripes.

Ah ok, as far as i know, this one was mostly built by a chap who lives/lived in coulsdon. Wayne i think his name was. Had a fair few bits that needed attention when i got it in 2001/2002. Awesome car though
