Default Exhaust Noise

Hi, I've recently had my Kakimoto GT 1.0z Titanium Exhaust noise tested at Brands Hatch and it failed at 113.4db near 6000rpm.

I'm after short and long term suggestions about what I can do next. The exhaust is a one piece unit so the back box is not removable.

In the short term I wanted to take part in the taster sessions at Brands on August 5th. Would a bung or baffle do the job? Is there anything to worry about when using one of these and driving a car fairly hard round a track?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Silencer-D...item336ee7d583

In the long term, I'm after suggestions for a quieter exhaust for my V4 classic.

Thanks

Alan

Neil at Slowboy (atleast i think it was Neil) recommended I didn't drive car hard with bung in.

I have a japspeed flanged 2.5 inch back box you can borrow if you can source a loan middle section to put on.

Yes, I thought I'd read something similar about the bung/baffle idea

I've been offered a complete 3" Hayward & Scott slip jointed decat system for £250. Any thoughts on price or performance? I can't find slip jointed parts on the H&S website so is this an older system? Thanks in advance.

Not sure that's H&S.
As Alyn said the hangers look H&S but they don't tend to weld the pipes together in sections as the above has just on front of the backbox. Instead they mandrel bend them.

I have never known them to do a slip jointed system and I bought my first H&S product back in 2001 when they first started Scooby backboxes. They have always had the much easier to install/remove flange fitments.

Revolution do a 3" slip jointed system which I believe was/is made by Mongoose, but I've never seen one off the car, so not sure what hangers it uses. These are good systems but a fair bit cheaper new then the equivalent H&S.

Thanks Alyn. I wasn't quite sure.
Mongoose, Scorpion (who I think made the Prodrive Box and also the TSL Grp'N'), Magnex and even Scoobyworld/H&S can all be a bit incestuous.

Although some of the above 'Brands' no longer exist.

Do Tube Torque still exist. They used to be big of Fords, as had a nice system on my Series 1 Turbo years back......

So if it is a Mongoose or Revolution is £250 now overpriced? I'm also presuming it would be quieter than my present system
