Default P0244 code

Gents can you help with this one...had the P0244 wastegate solenoid fault code come up, reset but come up again when foot down in 4th. Car is a 2007 hawk WRX with a decat prodrive exhaust but on standard map. Would a remap be the best option as was going to remap it at some point anyway.

Decat exhaust on a standard map could be pushing the current map to the limits of its ability to compensate - but as many mappers will say you shold only take a car that's 100% for mapping otherwise they may have to abort the mapping session as they cannot fix all faults on site, unless you go to a mapper/garage combination e.e Subaru4You in Newbury or further afield like Engine tuner. Most Mappers (especially mobile) only have the facilities to fix a variety of the more common minor faults that mapping can highlight (e.g a dodgy boost solenoid)

Crikey, not heard from you in a while! Hope, aside from this, all's well!

I know I'm a bit simple sometimes when it comes to technical matters, but I'd be looking at getting the car checked to see if the code is thrown due to a faulty part first.

Best of luck with it.

Hi Mate

Yeah still about but not local now as moved down to Hailsham but still work up your way. Not Driven the scoob much as use the hack for work.

I drove the scoob to a track day when I got the fault. Car drives fine after boost cut.
