Default Peugeot 308 GT

Mate asked me to give his year old Peugeot 308 GT a once over following the bad weather etc.

In a year of owning it it's done just over 12k and he's washed it prob twice at best!

Turned up to me looking beyond filthy following the snow we had and had bird mess stains on the bonnet and scratches along the roof and rear quarter where cats use it as a seat!

Started 7:30am yesterday morning when it was 2 degrees! It was so cold my snow foam had turned to a slush puppy in the container pmsl!!

As you can see it was pretty filthy.

Started with the good old valet pro snow foam and left that to dwell for 5mins to try and soften up some of the grime..

I gave this a rinse Off and then proceeded to clean the wheels and the arch linings.

Then re foamed the car and used a soft bristled details brush on the badges and exhaust trims and grill areas...

Gave it another rinse and then two bucket washed with chemical guys maxi suds 2..

Then gave it a good clay bar and got the machine out.

Being only a year old the paint was pretty good and just minor scratches and swirls.

Menzerna compound and orange pad seemed to do the trick.

Used some menzerna power lock sealant and then topped up with Petes 53 wax.

Seemed to come out ok i think. Lovely colour in the fleck of this paint...

Good job, car looks smart after your hard work. Those wheels are interesting, look like two styles of wheel slapped together.

Nice one Ryan, looks a pretty nice daily once it's clean!

They get a lot of stick but between Claire and I over the last 10 years, we've had 4 french cars and they've all been alright. Reliable, economical, good luggers (HDi diesels are good) and most importantly, cheap! Just rather uninspiring to drive...

So you can polish a turd...

Sorry, someone had to! I should say I have had a 205, 106 and 306 in my time, but the modern Pugs are not for me!

Looks very good and a testament to your efforts.

lol

I've just looked these up as i had absolutely no idea about them, the 308 GT comes in a 1.6 petrol (205bhp) or 2.0 diesel (180bhp, imagine that shifts with a load of torque).
The 308 GTI comes with a 1.6 turbo pushing 272bhp.

Still, can think of a lot of other cars i'd rather drop 25-30k on!

I genuinely thought the 308 GTi might have been a return to form, so I did look into it when it came out.

Unfortunately, it just didn't wow me enough. As you say, for the money you could do better. That seems to be the way with Peugeot now sadly.
