Default tyre time
Right. Its tyres replacement time. I had proxes t1 all round previously and they were brilliant but wear down fairly quickly. Any suggestions as to what I should look into.. Note; I changed two a while back to medium price tyres and 1st 2nd and 3rd would then spin up on hard acceleration. And would screech round corners. Not that I drive like stupidly at all but the tyres seem to make a massive difference . Not in a good way!!

Best tyres on a budget imo is still the falken fk452. Out performs a lot of the bigger brands. Generally they're about £75/corner (thats for 225/40/18), which is a bargain.

Have a look on places like camskill for decent prices in your size and see what floats your boat

Nice one . will have a look later. Toys proxes are good but wear down too quickly for the money

Er indoors has got these on her pug xsi , really good tyre in dry and wet , the only downside was only got about 10k out of them, perhaps its her driving

I'd be worried about her driving mate

Got over 15k out of mine, including 2 Brands trackdays and 2 ring trips with them squeeling like a good'un!

If the Toyos work for you then stick with them, If you want to save money then sell the missus, Good tyres are pretty important and its cheaper than understeering off into a ditch on a wet road!!

I've had a look round and can get toyo proxes tr1 s for 65 quid a side fitted. At that price I can't really go wrong I guess.

I think you may mean per corner rather than per side.


£32.50 per tyre Ill be having some of that.

Big E...you are correct .. that price is per tyre or per corner . Not as good as it sounded but still a Good price I think.

have you thought about federal RSR's?? one of the best track tyres, still easy on the budget though.
