Default My Build at last

JR Motorsports Limited Rye E/Sussex
Looking for someone to tune my car in the Southeast is hard. So when i heard about JR Motorsports Limited i took a look. I met James Rumsey & like me is a total petrol head. He introduced me to his engine builder Jimmy & that was that i booked the car in. Going for a fully forged 2litre all Cosworth build from baffled sump to flowed & ported head. The build itself is good for 850bhp ish not that i will be running that. The point is doing it right and making it very strong. I will be one of the first in my area to have this sort of build by JR Motorsports so fingers crossed. My main point is what a friendly lot. Take a look at this place it's Fantastic.

Engine out & its still warm from me driveing it in there!!!

Striped to this in three hours. Bloody quick.

Some new bits from Cosworth. The younger members might call this bling. I call it metal porn!

James Skayers is well known for his engine build's. He also loves a bit of head work, take a look at the seats! 4 angle cut

Cam's were made for this build 276 In & Ex pullys also made.

Crank pully is fluid filled- very posh

The clutch & flywheel are straight off a WRC Carbon something or other cant remember its brand name. Errrr yes i can Foooking expensive.

Turbo has arived at last from Forced performance so should be on for this weekend. Its not big as it should put out 420/450bhp ish. This build was not done for outright bhp. It is built to be a very caperble road/trackday car. Forgot to mention valves are only 1mm oversize springs & retainers are a bit of a secret? APRacing 6 potts were on the car when i bought it so there definately man enough. As some on here know one of the discs cracked last year. Ray replaced them at a cost of £450 for two discs so havent done any miles. Ive also had the chassi polly bushed [everything] to finish off & i should see them this Sat new Tein top adjustable coilovers. Anyway thats me skint homeless & another divorce on the way. Oh well role on Germany

Can't wait to see it on Saturday mate.

I'm with you all the way mate, bullet proof it above everything else. And after the conversation we had the other day, that kind of power is spot on.

Good luck with it all mate.

Just to add all rusty nut's & bolts have been replaced or reconditioned. All bearings are either Cosworth Or Arp. Cam's were made for the car to Jimmy's own spec by Piper cams. Head gasket is HKS. Only thing i'm changing cosmetically is the rear bumper & rear spoiler. Allot of money has gone into this build so i hope it stays together. This was all Paul's fault [red classic 450bhp with ppg] introducing me to James Rumsey then James introducing himself to my bloody wallet. You will meet this man on Sat he is a total petrol head & looks nothing like a multi millionaire at 28years old.

I must admit, I didn't think James looked like a 28 year old millionaire when he was trying to explain to the nice traffic officer why he had black and silver number plates on his GTR. Honestly officer, it was made before 1972.
On a serious note, heard he's a nice guy and looking forward to having a look round on Saturday.

Oh yeah, build looks good too, I've no idea why you need a fluid filled crank pulley but I want one

More probs now. My intercooler & my recirculating valve are not man enough. The jay pipe from the turbo + the turbo elbow need work ie one need fabricating & the other needs porting. Today i managed to buy a H.K.S. intercooler so thats done. My next problem was the r/valve. I dont like all that whoosh bang stuff so trying to find one in alloy that didn't make silly noises was quite a task. Found one in bonny Scotland in the end & should be on its way to me in the next couple of days. Dave Rowe is mapping the car next Wednesday {if car is ready} It should be entertaining as it hasn't even started up as yet. Fingers crossed.

Its driving me barmy. The delays for outside parts has been stupid. I really need to be in it as there will be probs at first to iron out. I would like some time to get used to it before we go to Germany.

Bet you can't wait, i think mine is going to be a mad rush to be ready for Germany, Although just picked up a very tasty Zeigon carbon bonnet and a roll cage for it.
Your old car will be quite a bit different when you see it next as the pile of new parts keeps on growing!!
Hope you get the beast back on the road soon

All coming on nicely Nige. It's a proper pain in the arse getting all these litle final bits to finish it isn't it. And amazing just how much these "little bits" cost.

Just when you thought you had stemmed the flow of cash leaving your pockets at a vast rate of knots too.

Well the mapping last week didnt go very well. The car needs an ecu as it didnt play ball with the bigger injecters.Thing's looked qute prommising at one point as it made 310 atw @ 1.4bar on std injecters. So will try again next week with a motec ecu. More £££££

I wasn't a happy bunny when they couldnt finish mapping the car. So to make me feel better they gave me a price i could not refuse on the Motec. I wont be useing launch as i dont do the drag thing. I will have that ani-lag jobby though. Hope to have the diffs run by the Motec later in the year to. Along with various other fuel maps.
sounded very aggressive on the rollers It sounds the dogs dangley bits i thought. Obviously not as good as a Scoob though

I find the Evo boy's are to far up there own backside's slaging Scoobs & they have never even owned one. They dont like it when i stand up for the Scoobs so f..k em!

A few more bit's done today 3bar map sensor 3 port boost solenoid. Motec fitted & waiting for Mr Rowe. Suspension set up sort of sorted. Once Germany is done i will need to drop back to a 35 profile wall as unable to bring the ride hight down to much on 40's. On the wheels & 245 tyres i'm using there is no more Clarence to be had. Oil & filter change then back on the Dyno. If all is well i should be in the car by the weekend.

Yep I've got my entire body crossed as it has been promised
back on Thursday so we've got the long weekend to play
rebuild and where did that bit come from!!
As soon as I get it bAck I will get the camera out and start
a thread. I have been busy fitting the coilovers and painting
all of the arms, subfraims, fan housings and anything else
that I could see. Will you have yours mapped before the long
weekend? Plenty of time To try it out!
