Default British Rallycross Championship R5 2019 – Lydden Hill

A sunny August bank holiday, so where else to go but Lydden Hill for some rallycross!

Standard suspension on rutted track looks like a rough ride!

Roger Thomas has now bought an M-Sport built Fiesta Supercar for use in the UK…

…very interesting engine setup: engine position and orientation just like the Focus and Fiesta WRCars.

Don’t know why but Derek Tohill seems unable to drive around Lydden without shedding bits of his car!

Jack Thorne has bought an ex-JC Raceteknik Fiesta from Europe. He was fast but erratic in the morning, but quick and consistent in the afternoon.

Not a car that springs to mind when you think about driving on gravel, but I think the S1 & S2 Exige is an great rallycross looking car (and a great looking car in general).

Oliver Bennett had a successful morning, but had to retire with engine overheating issues in the afternoon.

No one could touch Tristan Ovenden in the Super National class, despite some issues earlier in the day, Ovenden won every race he ran.

The Supercar final was fought between a gaggle of Fiestas, with Julian Godfrey taking the win and the Championship lead.

Not the biggest entry and stupidly warm conditions, but still a good day of racing!
