Default Alternator refurb

Any recommendations for someone to overhaul an alternator in my son's Renault Clio in the Eastbourne area?

Cheers

Is it a special one? as quick google suggest pricing on a new one isn't too bad? when you consider what a refurb may cost.....

Don't know about Eastbourne but there is a place in Hastings that used to do them, saying that I haven't been there for years so not sure if they're still about. Think they were called S.A.E, just off Old London Road in Ore.

Not a special model, but on the parts specialist sites it always seems to be the most expensive one - around £140. Since my son has just spent £750 to get it through the MOT in September and is going to change the car in the New Year I just wanted a cheap fix to get the car mobile again, preferably a maximum of around £75.

I see SAE are still around, so I'll give them a ring thanks.

Thanks Ron. In a rash moment I've bought a second-hand unit off the interweb with a three-month warranty. Of course, it may not be the right one, but what can you expect for £25
