Default British Sidecarcross and Quad Championship R6 – Canada Heights

Not the usual fare for here, but it was a good day, so I thought I'd post these up!

I really like spectating at Canada Heights and, with only one major motocross meet there every year, I was looking for another reason to get down there. I’ve never seen sidecarcross or quad bike racing in person before, so last weekend I decided to kill two birds with one stone…

It took about 30 seconds of racing to convince me that the sidecar passengers have got a screw loose: they all seemed to have zero sense of preservation!

There was also some clubman motocross racing mixed into the programme: the three and four wheelers were far more entertaining to watch though.

The quads were making a hell of a mess on the exit of the corners: cool to watch, but messy if you were stood in the wrong place!

A very entertaining day of racing and yet another discipline to try and catch next year!

Great pictures

Used to work on the burger vans at Canada heights when I was at college. Had some brilliant weekends there!

Fab pictures!

I virtually grew up at Canada Heights! A few familiar 'faces' there too! Some of the sidecar lot have been racing since I was a kid and Stefan Murphy (red jersey, kicking up the roost) has been racing quads since he was a kid!

It's a fantastic circuit. So refreshing to have personal safety left in the hands of the spectators. No high fences, or massive gaps to the track: if you don't want to get pelted with gravel, then don't stand on a corner!

The weather was an added bonus as well: I had been expecting a day of wading through mud!

Thankfully it was pretty dry on the spectators side: though the quads threw plenty of mud over the fence!

Great set - liked the head on shots of the sidecars. Have you ever been down to the beach race at Margate as that can provide some great entertainment as well as good photo ops of both quads and solo motocross racers...

No: would really like to though as I've seen coverage of the race and it looks like utter carnage!

Another event to add to the evergrowing list of events to fit in to next year!
