Anyone had problems with Hotmail and Live ID

Sigh............

Tried to access my one and only e-mail account. Had the "remember me" switched on but pc kept saying that the username or password was incorrect. Tried a few times as thought caps lock and number lock were the problem. Nope. Now locked out :angry:

Here's the rub. Try to reset password and they send the new one to your alternative e-mail address...................do I have an alternative e-mail address, nope, but they gave me a teaser on what it might be e.g sc*********@hotmail.com. Never gave them an alternatove address. So where the hell do they expect me to get my new login, no idea.

Then tried the memorable question only to be directed to my "alternative" e-mail addresss.

Do a bit more searching and find another way to retrieve my locked account. Filling in the 1,000 or so questions and come across the necessity to provide my "alternative" e-mail address. I have never given an "alternative" and if it was a hotmail address it would have laid dormant for years, so it'd be locked by now and I would need another address to retrieve that one, which would have laid dormant and been locked by now..............never ending.

So try looking for a contact number, helpline or direct e-mail. None, nada, nowt.

The buearocracy and inept way Microsoft work is breathtaking.

I did see in the hours spent trying to retrieve my beloved account that 1,000's of people have been affected by this. Microsoft give three ways to sort it and none of them have apparentl helped.

Well Done Bill Gates............ya moron.

Thats a gutter mate. Sorry to hear you are having these problems.

I ****ing hate PC's for this reason. When you load updates sometimes, it decides to reset all of your "remember me" settings.

I use the i-mac at home now as it is such a stable platform now.
