Default BTCC R6 2014 - Snetterton

Decided to tick another circuit off the "visited" list and give Snetterton a look for the sixth round of the British Touring Car Championship. Here be pictures...

I'm still undecided on the Civic Tourer. Great to see an estate back in the BTCC, but its no Volvo 850, is it?

Support racing for the BTCC came from the usual offenders, including Ginettas...

...and the Porsche Carrera Cup. I was never that bothered by the Porsche's, but I enjoy watching them almost as much as the BTCC races now.

Andrew Jordan had a pretty bad weekend. He had a smash in practice and spent most of the weekend in the back half of the field. There are still four rounds of the Championship to go, but he is going to need to go some to make up the point deficit.

Jason Plato had the most successful weekend with two race wins and a fourth (which meant we didn't have to listen to him moaning about rear wheel drive for once, hurrah!).

Quite an unusual layout at Snetterton, but I liked it. Nice to be at an MSV circuit without high fences everywhere as well!

Default BTCC R6 2014 - Snetterton

Not been to BTCC before...I don't avidly follow but do watch it on TV whenever I can. Do you think it would be a good family day out or more of a petrol heads day?

Great stuff as usual mate. Let me know when you next go to a BTCC day, might come along if I'm free

I really like the Ginetta and Porsche races too, some of the Ginetta Junior races have been excellent to watch!

Well I haven't got kids so I'm probably not the best person to comment, but I would think so. The races aren't too long and there is normally plenty of stuff laid on to look at so should be enough to keep everyone amused!

(If you are taking the family I would suggest taking food with you though: I imagine a day at the BTCC with many mouths to feed could get pretty expensive!)

Will do mate! Myself and Graham were debating Snetterton for a while, but it was a late decision to go. At the moment the next BTCC round we're likely to go to is Brands Hatch (October 11th/12th).

Deffo a great day out for the family with a lot of close racing.

Great pics as always steve

We are going up for the weekend to see the btcc at rockingham in a couple of weeks as also trying to do a different circuit each year apart from doing the normal brands/thruxton every year.

I quite fancy giving Rockingham a look as it looks a bit different to the norm: make sure you take your camera!

Cheers!

Only been there once before for the one and only champ car race which should have been a 500 miler but due to fog and damp track ended up being about a 100 mile race so hopefully weather will be better this weekend and yes will deffo take the camera.
