Default Windy flector

Finally gonna get round to fitting the other wind deflector onto the scoob.
Few questions:

Where it was originally taken off, the sticky stuff had removed some of the paint laquor (its left the paint), is it ok just to stick the new sticky stuff onto the unlaquored paintwork?

Should i get the new sticky stuff from Subaru or will off the shelf double sided sticky stuff do the trick?

For something that looks so simple, i'm not sure that its as straight forward a job as i'd like, just to make sure i know what i'm doing, i've first of all got to remove the plasticy bit that goes from the front window down to the back, peel back the rubber seals, fit the deflector in place then push the seals over the little fixing brackets, correct?
