Question Airbag steering wheel change, replacement for another HELP

So, in need of a replacement airbag I bought a whole wheel of the same boring design as previous for my GL to avoid any issues with the connectors being different (as I've read other threads about in the past.)

However, this was a fruitless exercise because the connector IS a sodding different shape

So faced with this bastard issue just as if I'd have bought a nicer looking MOMO or STi wheel I started hunting for threads on the subject, I read through this one http://bbs.scoobynet.com/general-tec...ng-wheels.html

I don't think my old one is socketed so can't go that route.....

Bit stuck now. Any help appreciated.

Give the wire a tug, It will come out, and Im sure the sockets are the same. Im sure I did that when I swapped the WRX wheel on my Bug ( old 4 spoke momo ) for the later 3 spoke grey STI one.

tug the wires from the yellow connector??

Or tug from the black circular thing going in to the exploded charge which to me does not look socketed?

Lift the white plug with a screwdriver and gently wiggle it, it will come out.

yes, but the other unit which has the exploded airbag does not have a white plug - and that's the one with the yellow socket shape that matches the car loom connector

You should be able to pull ( with some gentle persuasion ) the white plug out of the back of the air bag, and do the same with the green one ( looks green in the photo ) with the blue and yellow wire, the swap every thing around.
