Default Alarm malfunction

The after market alarm on my 2002 WRX has stopped working. Its activated by the key fob which still locks the doors, but the alarm doesn't set. When I open the bonnet and and using my key to turn alarm on and off it bleeps so I assume it has power. The alarm is; Spire?? LUG 2001 COD 600 made in Italy.Anybody any ideas or know a good alarm man.Thanks.

Does it go off when you open the doors with the keys rather then use the fob ?
If it's just the bonnet that doesn't set it off, it may be the bonnet pin connector is rusty and not making a good earth when the bonnet it opened.

No Ron,doors and bonnet shut, pressing the key fob locks the doors but doesn't arm the alarm(no bleep or flashing indicators) and if you then open the door with the key in lock, which should set of alarm, nothing happens.

Does the alarm have a built in back up battery? Have you changed key fob battery?
