Question Whistle from low revs

I started hearing a whistling noise coming from my 2004 WRX today. It happens in all gears and in neutral.

Its audible from the drivers seat at from around 1500 rpm (so not the turbo? I hope) and increases and decreases with acceleration / revs.

Any ideas? My first thought is a leak from the exhaust system somewhere near the front (uppipe?).

Thanks.

Seems to be driving fine with no noticeable difference and no CEL.

After further investigation the exhaust seems to be blowing at the downpipe. I am getting a fair amount of air escaping from the top of the downpipe heat shield. So it will have to come off at the weekend for inspection.

Update. The exhaust is blowing from the location of the arrow in the picture below, any ideas on whether it could be just the gasket or if I may need a new downpipe?

Thanks

Thanks, do you do the relevant gaskets? And would they be a standard size?

we stock and supply literally thousands of components / part numbers as well as maintaining a very busy engineering & engine / workshop..........there is no way we have time to keep updating the online side (much as i would love to)

our business is still a very much traditional mail order set-up so phone is king.........
