Default Any interest in a dyno day ?

I have been given the details of a newish tuning company based in hailsham who have just had a 4 wheel dyno installed.

Would anyone be interested in a dyno day at some point this year ?

It would be a Saturday or Sunday and would need a minimum of 15 cars to make viable
Cost would be £40 per car and will include a couple of runs and a print out . Also may help diagnose any issues with your car.
If 20 people are interested the price will be cheaper per person

What are people’s thoughts on this ?

I could be interested as I'd like to see what the legacy is actually running at the moment but for me SRR is actually the same distance (time wise) so I'd probably spend my £40 having a run done up there.

Good idea but they need to know how to operate the Dyno otherwise you will all come away with disappointing figures or un-realistic figures.

I've been to some in the past and figures have been well off.

My Hawkeye recorded 352BHP stock !!!
I said that wasn't right so they twiddled with the dyno and it came in as 328BHP. Which I said was close enough as it was a PPP 320.

But it proved it was a waste of time (and money) unless their using the dyno daily and clued up on how to calibrate them correctly.

Perhaps use JFA in Maidstone as they appear to be knocking through a few cars/tunes

I know the club has done a dyno day before but it was a long time ago before I joined

I’m easy with where to go just thought I would see if anyone else would be up for it
I’m happy to arrange the day but where is everyone’s preference?

I'll go anywhere I'm easy, see where everyone wants to go. Be good if more people will be up for it, it will be a good laugh

We've done a few over the last 10+ years, but they've always been at Surrey Rolling Road.

Surrey RR are well know as the place to go in the South especially if you have a Subaru - Charlie is very knowledgable and runs a good dyno (despite appearances). They are also the base for Syvecs ECUs.
I used 3 different RRs when I had the Impreza, PowerStation in Tewksbury (now closed), Surrey and also Sumo Power. Surrey always gave the best information with Charlie able to suggest improvements or to detect issues with the car where as the others simply gave a print out.

Charlie and SRR have also appeared on some of the recent Car Throttle vids for those of you who are vid YouTube watchers.

He also offers a cuddle if the numbers are quite what you were hoping for.

If and when I get round to fitting the collection of go faster bits in the garage I'll be interested in a return to Charlies as that's where my last run was done.

Roll on the warmer weather when it's a little more enjoyable crawling around under a car.

There was a place in hailsham for ages that had a 2wd roller an specialised in tuneing minis but would do dyno days an map most cars but were more than happy to let your own mapper use the rollers. Wonder if it’s the same place Neil

I'd like to know what my wagon is pushing nowadays - despite multiple requests Neil @ Slowboy hasn't been able to give me any numbers (due to some data plotting problem).
