I remember this being mentioned last year some time, but as fuel prices keep going up i wondered if normal fuel plus octane booster will ever be (or is it now) cheaper than filling up on premium fuels ..................Maths never was my strong point!!!

There is about £6.00 difference on a tank of Shell 95 and V Power, so in theory it will more expensive to go down the fuel and booster route.

I'd always stick with the better fuel in the first place.
Octane booster is more of a backup in case you get caught somewhere with your pants down (or for extra ron in the case of sprinting/drag etc). The cheapo supermarket '95 ron fuel is likely to be of a lower quality (different additives, cleaners etc) compared to something like vPower - they differ on more than just the octane rating ![]() |

As steve said stick with the better fuel, youll probably end up paying more for octane booster in the firstplace unless you get it in bulk
