Norway Holiday Pictures
A few from many 100's taken
The Fjord over the road from my relations place where we stayed   Traditional Norwegian Houses   Bud - North Atlantic Fishing Village  Bud - View from Ergan Fort German WWII Fortification   Atlantic Road - This bridge has been used in many films and adverts.   View from Opposite Molde Ski Centre from an island in Fannefjord after going through the Fannefjord tunnel !!!!   More views of the other side of Fannefjord, showing the bridge from the other side of the island  The Hire car  Random Fjord pictures on the way to Mardalfossen   Mardalfossen Waterfall The top section has a drop of 1,175ft    View from part way up Aursjovegen road (see video)  Another Ferry trip (lost count of how many we went on but totalled £220 and ranged from £10 crossings to a £63 tour)  Rauma Railway (google it) - You can take a very nice trip into 'Troll-land' down the Rauma valley. A trip for another time.........  Troll Wall - Highest Vertical Wall in Europe. The vertical bit is 3,600ft. The whole thing is 5,600ft to the summit. This photo was taken from 170ft above see level, so you really do not get the scale of this thing in a photo. It's very intimidating and even when you are there you can't believe that the vertical bit is taller then Mount Snowdon and the whole thing is taller then Ben Nevis.  Part of Slettafossen Waterfall. 20 minutes from Troll Wall along the same valley  A real Troll posing for photo's !!!!!  Troll wall - From a distance  My relations have good taste in transport  Molde Ski Jump - Why would you ever want too..........   I mean why would you..........  Well I suppose the view from the top is kind of worth it - Another view of Fannefjord  It's no better from this angle.......  Boys in training....when your young you have no fear........  Watch out 'Trolls' about.......I can see two.......  The start of Trollstigen   The viewing platform is not good for those afraid of heights. Great bit of architecture though.      More great viewing platforms above a gorge/waterfall.  The river heading for the above gorge  Time to get the Bungee out and pretend to be James Bond   First glimpse of Geiranger Fjord and the usual Cruise ship parking      Cracking little lodge we booked for a couple of nights in the Geiranger region  Glacier - As viewed from the lodge veranda  Another old tourist route on a 3,000ft mountain pass. These are only cleared in June/July and they seem to of left one of their tools/spades behind.   WWII German Heinkel Bomber crash wreckage      The bridge to get to the wreck was a bit dodgy and the water looked very cold......  Dalsnibba mountain road - 5000ft above see level (and just a little cold)  Various views of road up Dalsnibba, going all the way back down to Gerianger Fjord     A few close ups of the Glacier opposite   Back down near Geiranger. Parked the car out of town and walked down yet another fantastic piece of architecture. Although I regretted the 327 steps back up with 2 bags of shopping and a rucksack !!!!!    The place we stayed....no treasure in the garden though    Toy boat at Kristiansund  Took the Atlantic Road route back from Kristiansund to Molde, just because we could.......   German Fortifications 10 mins from where we stayed.  There were a lot of them on this piece of rock.....   Boys did a bit of fishing from the sight of the fortifications. Unfortunately someone had warned the fish......   1/5th of the UK's Gas comes from here, in a 1,200km pipe under the sea.   Last day and back to Trollstigen for one last time.

There are many places in Scandinavia and the surrounding area I wish to visit.
Pictures like these only serve to make my feet more itchy! Excellent crop of photos. Looks like a great place to spend time.

I travel a lot around Europe and the flight too/from Norway was one of the best I've been on. You could probably fly to Bergen (and back) for a long weekend for about £70 Car hire for the 2-weeks was £498 through Rhino Car hire. This is a booking agency and the end provided was documented as 'Budget Car Hire'. I was expecting a Pug 308 (or similar). But in Norway they are joined with 'Avis'. So the car ended up being 'Avis' and quite a nice spec'd Volvo with only 10,000km on the clock (I added 2,200km in 2 weeks). Had I booked direct with Avis it would of been £1000. Overall this was one of the cheapest holidays we have had for family day's out. The only attraction we had to pay to get into was the Ergan Fort and 2 Tourist route Toll roads (£10 per car). If it had been the UK, everywhere would of incurred a family entrance charge and forced the use of their Café/Restaurant. I've paid a lot more in the UK to view a waterfall that in Norway won't even be on the map of have a sign.
