Default Belgium Grand Prix

Belgium Grand Prix was a tad wet. Not sure why they did those few laps behind the safety car. Was it just so they could claim" we had a race" and not have to refund the fans?

I believe it probably was the reason, that could also effect the championship. Don't think that was a good decision to do that

Looks to me like that is exactly why they did the two laps - it classifies as the event having taken place, rather than event cancelled. And hence no refunds needed. Complete farce and some of the FIA radio broadcasted highlights the confusion going on at the time - teams not knowing it the race had even started during the 3 hour delay.

Would have been better off just cancelling it. Refund the fans who sat in the pouring rain all day for nothing. Plus half points being awarded for no actual racing doesn't seem right (although it was nice to see George Russell and Williams stand on a podium!)

Agreed 100%

An utter farce, just to avoid refunds. its not like they couldn't afford to pay out, or perhaps it should have been postponed to a later date.

My son took me to watch the Spa race in 2019. We were lucky with the weather across the weekend and had a great time.
He would NOT have been happy this year - a proper rip-off!
