Default Guages

Hi guys,

a little advice needed on guages please. I've seen prosport and know that a few people have been happy with them. Any issues?

Also, apart from the dash and pillar, are there any other places that people usually mount them. I'm not really that keen cutting the dash up too much.

Thanks

John

Guys, apologies, I seem to have made two accounts. One as Daphne and one as Daphne01 (this is my scoobynet name). I don't even know how this happened. Just to say that it is my post above and any help is appreciated.

Thanks

John

I have Prosport gauges. Have had them for a couple of years now and had no issues atall. They are great. I think the boost slightly over reads. The only thing I would say is you need to make sure they are correctly fitted and all connections are clipped in properly.

Yes, they are. I couldnt get 60mm in the stepper range when I got mine, but if you PM Silversurfer (Scott), he has just got 60mm prosport steppers i believe, so he will be able to tell you where he got them from if you would prefer 60mm

Steve

Oh, and one other word of advice. I tried a couple of cheaper gauge pods, before finally paying the money and getting an ATI one. Save yourself the money and get a decent one (ie ATI from scoobyworld) to start with as the cheap ones just dont fit.

Thanks. I was told that there were more pods to choose from for either 52 or 60. Can't remember which now. I don't mind really. What I'm keen to know is if there is somewhere they can be a bit more inconspicuous whilst still being in a good position to see.

The ATi pod is made to fit both. You simply add rings that are supplied to fit 52mm. If your car is a classic then some have fitted them where the vents normally sit in the centre of the dash. Then of course you can mount them on top of the steering column so they sit just in front of the dash.

Try doing a search on scoobynet. There are loads on there and a thread called "show us your gauges". All sorts on there.

I'm pleased with mine, only problem was that the green at night was so bright I disconnected the green and left them white.

60mm ProSport from here : http://stores.ebay.co.uk/warehouse-f..._sid=929904168
These are the black faced that illuminate either red or white.

Don't worry about them being in Hong kong, they arrive in less then 7 days and the seller put's GIFT on the packaging so you don't get stung for import duty etc.....
I ordered all 3 at different times and each turned up really quickly.

I am pleased with mine, although the red option isn't great in bright daylight.
for the money they are fantastic and I would only ever replace with genuine defi gauges if they were a 2nd hand bargain.

Don't cut corners on a cheap ebay pod if you are fitting in the centre of the dash, it won't fit well and will look inferior compared to the rest of the dash.
