Default 2002 bug sti questions/info

Hi guys,

I've just purchased a late 2002 Sti type uk PPP.

i have a few questions on it just for knowledge and wondered if you could help.

1) What turbo is fitted on these?
2) What boost pressure it should be running?
3) Should this model have the uprated fuel pump?
4) The car has a full miltek decat system and Hks induction kit, i have a dyno graph showing the car making 330bhp, to make this power is it likely to have been remapped or still on the prodrive mapp, it boosts to 1.2bar. i can't see the decats and filter giving it an extra 25bhp??

cheers Benji.

Nice one!

It will probably have a vf35 turbo, with no cats it should have been mapped, but at 330 it most probably has. And yes, the cats do free up around 20-25, did it on mine.

Not to sure on the boost though.

Keeping the classic?

I think the only way to tell for sure is to pop it up to Simon and get him to plug it in, it will tell him if its mapped, and who did it.

almost definately mapped at that level as they were around 300 with PPP
will have a VF35 as std on the UK STi

fuel pump upgrade was part of the PPP at that time

Mine was 335 bhp with decat, panel filter, fuel pump and remap. Some make 350 with just those mods.

If it's a 3' Miltek chances are it's a powerstation stage 1 pack.

Rang powerstation they did a ecutek remap and fit the full system, they mapped it to 1.35 but im only seeing 1.1/2 bar, so need to get it looked at really, pleased its been mapped tho. think it could do with probably a fresh tweak on the mapp.

Could be a sensor i.e MAF or o2 just not quite reading as it should but not yet throwing a check engine light. You could also have some boost leak or something. Target boost is 1.35 so you should be able to get closer to that if things are running as they should. Probably nearer 330 odd just under 340 bhp when running like that.

bear in mind that different boost gauges give potentially different results to what the car is actually seeing..............
