I was in California 10 days ago when they had one.
I was a long way from the epicentre though, just thought I was pissed..... for a change Mate, get the planks, hammer, saw and nails out. The end of the world is nigh, we're all dooooooooomed Captain Mainwairing. |

cool. (well, for us lot that live miles from any fault lines!)
looks like Spain had a fairly big one on the 10th April - didn't see anything in the news about it? |

The one we felt in America last week didn't make the news here either. That was near 7 on the scale too.
I suppose it's a house of cards effect really. Once one tektonic plate (excuse the spelling, not sure on this one at all ) gives way, it must have enough ongoing power to push right along the fault lines. Hence so many recently. |

You are all mistaken!!
The world is flat and made of caster sugar! All of this tectonic illusion is made up to keep geo-scientists in their well-paid jobs. The San Andreas fault, according to my friend, was dug out one night using a big digger! And all that hot water coming up through the ocean floor - someone is boiling a big kettle! Off to buy my 2012 DVD now. If it DOES all go bang, we can stop worrying about the price of petrol, so that's one good thing!
