Default Rainy Day at Brands Track Day!

Jeez, first time driving in anger on Meths at Brands today and it rained buckets the whole time.

Was really pleased with the way the P1 handled and felt.

Showed those Evo boys what a proper bit of kit went like

No pics Stiggy. It was lashing down. My Son was filming it but his first time with my camcorder and we shall leave it at that

Yep saw the red GT3 mate.

HongKong: that's why I packed it up at 2.00pm. Was really pleased the way it went on the 5 outings, but driving it quick in those conditions was asking for trouble with no purpose or gain..

The only thing that was timed (undercover was 4 secs dead from exit of Clearways to braking point at Paddock Hill Bend.

Was a good day, a real shame it was so cold and wet but was still good to watch!

Clive, the P1 looked and sounded great particularly the first couple of laps after lunch. Looked like you wanted to make use of the quieter (and maybe slightly drier) track.

Poor guy in that GT3, I left early so was unaware until Sccobhoo put it in my P2 thread. I was right behind him through Surtees & Clearways & he was on the limits. When I took him on the main straight he left me about two feet to play with.

Huh, I remember that classic CJ, I was watching it that was going well.
(Good Ol' Classics)

Thanks chaps, yep she's a good girlie

That is exactly right Si. Drove down the pits and waited.
I knew it was quick by the way I caught everything up but I didn't have an opportunity of a clear lap so I jumped in quick after lunch

I said hi fairly early on (all be it so wrapped up in hats/hoods/coats I doubt my own mum would have known who I was!) but you were on a bit of a mission (Probably to stay dry) through the pits so wasn't going to run across like a nutter! LOL

Hi Mike. You car looked good mate.

Yep I am booked for the 30 -130. One of my best mates has just prepared his Scoob for the same event.
On dyno last week and had 628 Bhp at the hubs. Helicopter tape & the whole bit, and he is going for a 200mph run.

You up there Mike ?

I am going to be there too

I just finished building my engine myself last week unfortunatly we did not finish mapping it on friday, but it was safe for brands which was the main thing. It made 533 on pump gas a 1.5 bar, mapping today so should see a bit more

It would be nice to have a chat a the 30-130 day, your car looked lovely yesterday

Wow thats impressive Mike !! 533 on pump fuel at 1.5Br, good stuff. Never realised you were running such high power.

2.5 ? and what turbo?

There are not that many proven 500+ classics about then another appears out the woodwork. I know Jolly Green is well up in the 500's.

Not sure if you are driving up with any other cars or not Mike but I will be going up with SleeperSy. His car will be on a trailer & I will be driving the P1. Maybe we could hook up and convoy up together?

Mike how were you finding grip levels at Brands? through & out of Clearways?

In 3rd & 4th the P1 was loose existing Clearways and on to the straight and keeping it on the floor I was correcting the car every 10th of a second trying to keep it on track. It must of been the same for you?

If u watch the first short clip carefully you can see what I mean.
