Smile Exhaust/Headers Wrapping

Hello guys. I have just joined as a new member.

I would like to start a thread for anyone that has/wants wrapped headers?
I have bought some high temperature wrap but I'm not sure how good it is.
Any fitting advice and recommended brands for future? My headers are stainless and have cracked a few times. So my reason for wrapping is to try and awoid further cracking.

Thanks.

wrapping won't necessarily prevent cracking of the pipes. the wrapping gets damp and heats all the time remember

Would it not be better to get the headers ceramic heat coated instead of wrapping them or is that better .

Yea It would be better to ceramic coat first then wrap but it is additional cost that puts me off doing that. I will probably have to replace it as I have read that they go brittle.
Standard headers are very thick and have heat shields. where as stainless are really thin with no heat shield. I am hoping that the wrap will help the heat to walm the pipe evenly. even when it's damp I need to keep the heat in.

Does anyone have wrapped headers? What is the wrap used and would you recommend it?

Thanks

Just use std DEI wrap and stainless lock wire don't bother with the metal cable ties.
