Default British Rallycross Championship R7 – Lydden Hill

It wouldn’t be an August bank holiday without a bit of rallycross. Unfortunately, just like last year, it was absolutely hammering down all day!

With the delicate application of a freezer bag I was able to use the camera, here are a few of my fave shots:

Pretty much everyone was struggling in the wet, though the cars in the Hot Hatch class were almost wading through the loose sections of track!

Marc Scott led the RX150 class, winning two of the three heats and taking the overall “A” Final win.

Craig Lomax dominated the Super 1600’s, taking the class win and 2015 Championship at Lydden.

Kevin Procter was absolutely flying and qualified pole for the Supercar “A” final along with Andy Scott and current Supercar points leader Julian Godfrey.

It was Ollie O’Donovan who took the win though. Starting from the second row of the “A” final he got a flying start and led into turn 1. Procter pushed him all the way to the flag, but Ollie managed to hold him off, despite having a puncture.

Mark Watson and Steve Hill seemed to be chasing each other all day. Pretty much every time I saw them on track they were side-by-side.

You know it’s a wet race when the cars are generating their own bow wave!

A rather damp day out, but the final races were excellent and well worth enduring the elements for!

Yeah, it was rather damp! Did make for some great racing though, the Super National and Supercar "A" finals were both excellent.

Don't let him see that picture: he'll be ashamed he wasn't going sideways!
