Default Yosemite Pics 1

I have had a spare couple of hours this afternoon, so I have got round to doing some more Ammerica pictures.

All from Yosemite National Park. This is about a fifth of the Yosemite ones I have to look at.

Hope you like them

bloody excellent stuff mate

like Clive said - you've got the eye for what makes a great photo. I'd end up walking past half of that stuff! also makes me really annoyed we went so close to Yosemite but never made the effort to actually go there!

One day.....

Thanks guys, much appreciated.

Yosemite is a simply stunning place, I couldn't recommend going there enough. If you ever get the chance, go there. Even just to drive through it.

Great photos Steve... They're all really good but I have to say the 2nd and 3rd ones are particularly special, really love those two!

Brilliant pics especially the first and third....

Is that El Capitan in the background.

Yosemite is probably THE most beautiful part of the world I've seen. We drave from San Fransico to Vegas and this was the best place.

Cheers all

Roo, No that isn't El Capitan, it looks virtually Identical to it though, which is very weird. It is only about 3 miles from El Capitan, at Mirror Lake.

We drove from Vegas to San Fransisco, taking in Yosemite for 2 nights.

Agreed, it is the most beautiful and awe inspiring place I have ever been to, one of the few places in the world I would revisit.

Did you come in through Tioga Pass [sp]. We drove out that way. 30 degrees on valley floor and 5ft snow at the top.

Did you do the Grand Canyon in Vegas?

Tioga pass was still closed when we went in April, still had 6ft of snow on the pass roads at that point.

Like you say though, it's a different world, we went from 100 degrees plus in Death Valley in the morning to 4-5ft of snow still lining the road into yosemite above 4000ft. It's mind blowing stuff. It didn't really register on the drive into Yosemite, just how the elevation is so high. It was when we were leaving the park and heading to San Fransisco that it really showed up, we must have been going downhill for about half an hour beside the river, stunning.
