I had been holding off confirming as I've still not had the usual stand layout or final info through yet.... but need to get the ball rolling!

We will be using the same meeting point as we did last year!

Please make sure you are at Wested Lane, which is just off Junction 3 of the M25 (opposite side to Brands Hatch) - postcode is BR8 8EE.

We will queue up on the side of the road (in the area where the red lines are on the map above). I will be handing out tickets/car passes to people as they arrive. If I've got distracted by someone and you don't have your tickets within a few minutes of arriving, come and make yourself known! (For the newbies, ask someone to point you in my direction ) From there, we will go back under the M25 and convoy up to Brands Hatch.

Meet at Wested Lane - 7:45am
Leave for Brands Hatch - 8am sharp, to arrive approx 8:15am

Please be on time. If anyone has not arrived at the meeting point by 8am, then we may leave without you (we can't delay the whole group). If this happens, I will try and leave your tickets with the gate staff at Paddock entrance, but this cannot be guaranteed. If this is going to be a problem for anyone, then please PM me in advance.

Finally - a few words about behaviour. (and yes, most of this is copied and pasted from last years thread ) I know with the people on the list we shouldn't have any problems, but perhaps its worth us stating the obvious. We want you to all have a great day out but remember you are part of this club and representing SES by being on our club stand. Any bad driving or behaviour reflects negatively on us and may prevent us from being allowed to attend future events. No donuts on the grass at Brands, no speeding/racing in the convoy. Anyone found acting stupidly or dangerously may be denied access to the event and may have their access to the forum removed. All common sense stuff for 99% of folks, but we don't want the 1% ruining it.

Thanks

At the moment I'm a little concerned I won't have a car!! Got the scoob back about 10 days ago only for there to be a problem with the gearbox rebuild so its back with SMD (who are bending over backwards to have it ready but at the moment the box is still with Bexhill gearboxes!)

And it'll need a wash when if i get it back. Really don't want to turn up in a diesel

I'm meant to be bringing the gazebo and a mate is coming with me. Not sure what plans will be yet if the scoob isn't finished. Cheers for the offer though dude, its a backup plan at least!

Suppose I'd better dig mine out of the garage and give it a wash, not used it since the meet in September. Bloody garage roof has started leaking so even if I wash it I'll have to give the bonnet a once over when I get there, saying that, if the weather continues to be crap it will be filthy after the drive up anyway.

Don't even know if mine will start and think old age has hit so I'll more than likely be in the sorento as heated seats are nice to warm up on the homeward journey

Come on CJ, get the charger on the scoob and bring it along

So much for scoobs only, although I guess i might end up being a hypocrite if the gearbox isn't fixed on mine! Not for want of trying though!

I think a quick spruce up will be in order after work Friday and some use of my good friend 'rapid action detailer'.

I'm told that SMD should have the gearbox back Thursday morning and it'll be going back in the car Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. So the scoob might just make it, assuming no further problems....... fingers crossed.

Weather looking iffy at the moment, will bring the gazebo for extra shelter in case its needed!

I'll pop over and say hello, but unfortunately I'll be in the car park. The damage the funny blue one got the night before leeds castle still hasn't been fixed, so it doesn't seem right to put her on the stand.

More than welcome to join us, the scuff really didn't look that bad at Leeds Castle....

Still have spare stand passes so you could pay on the gate if you wanted to

But doesn't that smack in the face what Time Attack is all about i.e Saloon cars running 600-900BHP

Would the FIA GT Championships accept GobStopper2, it's got a G and a T in the name ?

I've seen the Moslers on the Indy circuit, they don't really get to stretch their legs, to be honest they looked a bit cumbersome on such a short track.

Bloody hell that's early. I thought you were meeting just of the M25 for 8:00, not 7:00.

IMHO the Time Attack organisers are taking the piss asking for everyone to be on site so early.
Last year most of the attendee's were club/display stands with very little public entry. So they could probably push this out to allow entrance upto 10:00-10:30. Especially as this year it's going into darkness.

7:45am meeting, not 8am

And that's 15 mins later meeting than last year too. I'm sure some clubs will still be rolling in at 9am but they'll have spent a whilst queuing i expect. I've also been advised that its going to be pretty tight on space to get everyone in on the tarmac area (grass will be a bog) so good to get in before other clubs 'stretch' their boundaries if you know what i mean.

I agree its an early start considering the final races are later this year, but i'm not sure how many people will still be there at that time. Forecast is sunny for the morning, but wet in the afternoon from 2-3pm onwards.
http://www.myweather2.com/Motor-Raci...it.aspx?sday=2

So I reckon quite a few will start to leave after that if it properly hacks it down!

Just seen this on FB, looks like we're opposite the Drift Taxis, hope the wind is blowing the opposite direction to last year, not too sure about our neighbours either.

There is that, I notice that GTROC, MLR and P1WOC/Scooby City have the prime spots on the hard standing at the top of the circuit again.

Mine will be in the public car park then.
I'm not having it covered in grit/rubber and stinking of rubber/fumes for the journey home.
Stood there last year and lasted about 5 minutes before I had to leave.

Clearly we are not 'in with the right' people as P1 and MLR have been their position for 3 years or so, even with smaller numbers.

If anyone wants my 'early bird' ticket it's up for grabs as a freebie.
Sick son, second son returning knackered from a pgl weeks camp and now the above means I will evaluate the situation on the morning and buy a public ticket if required.

I can't see how we're going to fit 18/19 cars in that small area.
There are 21 on the MLR and their area seems twice the size

If there's any problems we can all just pack up and leave and move the cars to the public mud bath.

We can always put the sacrificial Evo and Supra at the front to protect the others

Sorry

GTROC and MLR do all the modified Live events, not just the one local like us, so I can see why they get a good spots

Yep, unfortunately that is the case - we only attend one of their events per year as we're not a national club, so we don't have the biggest amount of clout when it coming to picking the best spots.

The location doesn't look great but there's not a lot I can do to influence where we get put, other than asking nicely!

Just to throw some more positivity into the thread I won't be in the scoob as its still got a problem. Looks like the Mondeo ST or my mates 306 GTI-6 (if the gazebo fits in it!).

Well I'll be at the meeting point bright and early tomorrow, it was quite windy last year so the rubber and dirt was getting blown across the paddock, hopefully tomorrow will be better and if the tarmac in the lower paddock is wet there won't be much rubber coming off those tyres on the drift taxis anyway. Get in, set up and see how the day goes.

Yep, exactly that. If its crap or there's a lot of rubber/dirt coming off the drift taxis then we'll move somewhere else. All of the grass areas are empty as they're worried about them being boggy, some are but some aren't.

We're AWD, after all

Weather is looking much better now, if a little breezy in the afternoon
http://www.yr.no/place/United_Kingdo.../Brands_Hatch/

Its likely that the gazebo will be left at home for this event as a) it looks like space will be at a premium and b) it can't be pegged down on tarmac and nobody wants it catching the breeze and scratching their car (or morelike, i don't want the blame )

Plus it looks like i'll be coming in my mates 306 GTI-6 and i don't think it'll fit in that!

So in case it rains, bring a brolly And if it *really* chucks it down, we're nice and close to Hailwoods for shelter and food....

Good day, good company, good food (thank you Wanda and Dave for the catering)
Got some photos of you on track Benji, I'll upload them when I get a chance. Can't believe there weren't any real incidents considering the conditions.

Thanks for coming along guys Hope you all had a good day despite the cold and the odd shower.

Wasn't a bad turnout considering the forecast and the fact that its November! But most of the regular clubs seemed down on numbers compared to recent years.

I was also very surprised at the lack of incidents in the public sessions considering the greasy conditions and the number of cars out there at once - the driver briefings were obviously takens seriously!

And again, big thanks to Wanda for the lunch really is appreciated (more-so as Dave warned me about the extra hot turbo-turd inducing pasties )

Next years Brands round is 21st June, so weather should be much nicer. (Or at least warm)

Was a good day all things considered, impressive to see the night time attack runs(although technically couldn't see much) but nicer weather will be a plus in June time, as long as the British some holds out
