Tim,

If you're selling the APS for a decent price met me know as I'm not sure mine is 100% and I should be able to fit yours with too much of a map tweak! I need to get my new fuel rails plus FRP and 650s fitted anyway!

Progress at last......

Been waiting on some Pistons from the states as the ones that arrived weren't the correct grade...in the end the engineer had some slightly bigger ones just sitting there so its now being put together by Stew and the engine capacity will be slightly bigger than 2.1 now

I asked him to take a couple of pics as he goes so apologise for the quality but you get the idea!


already to go on!



In the final stages now....I am hoping/praying to pick up early next week.....chomping at bit now

I dont know... I change my inlet manifold to blue to be different and then another pops up a month later

Looking good Tim... Im guessing the size of the turbo is the reason SC said it might be slightly laggy on a 2.1

That Sc50 shouldn't be laggy on a 2.1 & a bit. BB + billet should spool very well.
Unless it's single scroll ? I take it the 50 part means 500bhp

Yup....I think I read somewhere that 550 is possible but I would be over the moon with 500 tbho

800's and still the walbro, stew says this pump will still be ok

I'd go 044 and swirl pot if your looking at doing any hard track, mine was cutting out with half a tank at the air strip driving day

It will be a sea of blue with the samco hoses added later....kind of wish I had the cam covers done now same as the manifold. (different blue to Angers tho)

do they do blue dipstick ends?

He had it running tonight and apparently it sounds sweeet!

This has overrun on time but not Stews fault...I am hoping its mapped for a friday pickup can't wait!

It's gutting hiding all of the oil cooler stuff isn't it? It's some nice looking stuff and good engineering. Those couplings are something else.

Got it back after a painful drive back via no motorways and no boost, short shifting etc, still at least I can go to the meet on Saturday now

Glad you have it back mate
Just a thought how many 2.litre cars wil be going to Germany? Another thought mate for the safty factor. Have your 255 hard wired should keep you safer. Not expensive eighther. Untill you go 044 & swirl at a later date.

Making me wonder if I need an oil cooler - How much are the kits guys and where does the oil filter go?

Just another belt and braces really mate.

Got mine from RCM. Total cost for the kit was £522.90 (£425.75 +vat)

The only extras for me was the cold air feed hose, The trumpet came in with the price.

mine was £275 but I dont know the make. Stew has relocated the oil filter to right side low down...mmm looks great

A couple of pics with a proper camera.....I love opening my bonnet now!
The hoses are a work of art - FPR


Oil cooler (not that clear but stew did a fantastic job of not cutting anything and angling it in


the finished article


So far its very smooth and clearly powerful....its so good to have it back!

Just through the left vent and natural air from underneath, stew says should be more than enough there

Do you have an oil temp gauge, if so monitor it and if you think you need more cold air, you can always add

question for you and worzel , you both have put your coolers in the wing the same as me but can't see an exit for the hot air ?

Cheers for that Chris, good find.

Dave has mad a vent through the arch on mine but not too low as to cause problems with the brakes.

I do like those vents though and may well have a couple of those

You need to get bang on 500 mles for best results.
When you raise the car to drop the oil make sure you don't spin the wheels as that will push you past the 500 ......[ADD SMILEY FOR BEING ANAL]

I did about 750 miles on the running in oil, before moving to fully synth 10-50 and starting to give it more boost/throttle. I was running 0.5 bar and 3.5K rev limit but used lot's of overrun as advised by JGM to bed rings properly up to the oil change. After the oil change it was 'normal' service resumed by the map still had a 0.8 bar boost limit and a 5K rev limit until the syvecs was fitted.
