| JDM AVCS onto a CDB?

Would like to know if any machine work is needed to fit JDM avcs heads onto a CDB from a old classic? Kas |

As i for one run a CDB with avcs heads no, but i would get it skimmed to make sure the headgasket seals ok after my last build

Shouldn't be any issues - JDM heads will be 2.0 so the correct bore - as Anger says, make sure you get block/heads skimmed to be sure.

If you go 2.1 make sure the heads are opened out to match the bore size on the Block or you'll have a nasty step. Same as you have to do fitting 2.0 heads to a 2.5.

Makes more sense. I am in a little dilema between buliding either a forged 2.0l with a closed deck block or going 2.1. The costs involved in building a 2.0l is more affordable compared to building a 2.1.

2.1 including parts(you can source full stroker kit from Advance Automotives from £1250-£1450),will be cheaper option. http://www.advancedautomotives.com/c...-kits-58-c.asp Jura |

Have to admit not a bad price for a stroker kit. Are those rods the longer version? The parts for the 2.0l are only costing me £550 including CP pistons, Mahle rods & ACL bearings. Aiming for a engine good for 550+ |

confused by some of the comments in this thread.......... bearing in mind that 2.0 engines have been run at over 700bhp why do you need a stroker kit for 400-450bhp?? after doing a lot of research, personally think that the Cosworth "uprated" studs are not the bet option due to being made from "tool steel" which can have numerous issues if marked/dropped - not least being it becomes extremely brittle!! we also now do a 14mm head stud conversion kit

Not so. 2.1 and 2.0 are same bore size, difference in volume is due to the stroke

I'm running 11m ARP headstuds on my 2.5 - no extra machining needed and should be good up to 450/450.

What would be the difference between going for a stroker kit with standard rod size but with stroker pistons? Compared to the longer rod version kit.
