Default Is this a fair value for a 2004 Wrx?

Here is a description from another forum

I'm due to part exchange my Subaru in the coming week or so, but thought I'd offer it out in case it would be a bargain for someone.
It's a 2004, 54 plate 2.0 WRX, the last of the cars that fit into the 'sensible' tax bracket - £260 a year currently. (The newer 2.5 cars are in the £450 bracket)
I don't currently have any pictures, and due to the time frame I might not be able to take any - but you're welcome to arrange to come and have a look.
Black with grey wheels
49000 miles (extremely low for the age)
Full Subaru dealer service history from new
Recent new front pads and discs
4 new tyres about 5k ago, loads of tread left
MOT and service will be happening at Bell & Colvill this week, so won't be due again for 12 months.
It currently has a Kenwood Sat nav / radio / ipod system which I installed in the car (worth about £700 when it was installed 2 years ago). I was planning on removing this for the trade in, but the price above would include it. If you would prefer not to have this, then I would accept £4300 and will re-install the standard CD Radio.
Give me a shout on u2u asap if you're interested, before I do the deal on part exchange!
*
I was thinking more like £4k? Assuming its an unmolested well looked after example?
Cheers chaps

So if he takes £4300 without headunit. How much does he actually want with it?

From my point of view 4k doesn't sound too bad depending on the condition etc. Mileage is good..

Sorry, missed that. Its £4500 with the head unit, however I'm not overly interested in that tbh.

I would go have a look at it first if its not too far away... like I've said before, someones description can be very different to the actual product but I dont think 4k is bad if its all genuine and good condition.

Surely if they were that bothered about selling it privately they would sort some photos out, most people won't go see a car without knowing roughly what condition its in....

Not strictly true, the cars in the lower tax bracket existed for another 18 months after this was made....the swap-over was on the '56 plates.

There were also '06 plate 2.5 hawkeyes on the lower tax bracket too....

Not placed any adverts yet dear boy. Car needs to go though sadly.

Heres a pic with the white set of wheels on at the time. Picture from a 5mp phone.

Of course mate.

Spec wise it's pretty long.
In the 6.5 years of owning this car I've not spared any expense. Many of the users on here who know me will vouch for that.

I've got uprated cosworth water pump, oil pump, belt, sump pan etc.

Billet MD321T turbo, fmic, Simtek Ecu x2 maps with launch control/Antilag, stage 3 handling.

You name it.

482 bhp / 458 left (18% meth map)
452 bhp / 440 left ( V Power map)

Only reason for sale is its used everyday, costing me too much to run on that power and bits have broken which I will admit but my kids are getting bigger so need more space and so on.

I've lost the passion for the car & the scene so it needs someone who can give it that.

Steve

Sounds very nice the gimp but it's a bit beyond my level for insurance tbh. Unfortunately being a named driver for ever means even a standard car is circa 700 so this will be a lot more I'm sure.

Thanks and good luck with the sale.

Iain
