Default Exhaust swap anyone?

Would anyone be interested in swapping their backbox for my japspeed? I'm after an angled exit exhaust that'd be noisier than mine, but not too much...

Actually, suggestions for what I should go for might be handy. I think a nur spec might be a bit too loud, what could I try?

I had a Haywood and Scott 4.5 inch Jap style angled exit on my WRX, great sound around town but motorway driving was noisy for rear passengers lol. Cost me around 350.

I had the haywards and Scott on mine after your japspeed and it was ok, but if you are think of decanting etc it starts to get loud. Especially if you change your manifolds.

Infact Ginola may have one and might let you quickly try it if you speak to him nicely.

Dave might have a spare h&s backbox? I'd pm him but his inbox is full apparently. I'm only looking to change the backbox. I can't afford to go swapping manifolds n that and then having to get it mapped too. HigH, was that 350 for the whole system?

£350 for the back box and straight through centre section mate 👍

Give them a bell mate number on their website, it will be cheaper as you only need the back box?

Would I benefit much from the straight through section? Would it be a little noisier if I replaced the center bit but left the box I have at the moment?

It was once explained to me thus; your backbox gives you the exhaust note and will allow for some additional db by removing some muffling, the rest of the system. e.g. centre pipe gives you volume.

If you take out the resonator in the centre pipe it should increase the volume I believe.

I still have all cats and a resonator, so cannot confirm that what I was told was right. However, my friend had the same car as me, but a straight through centre pipe and his is louder, so seems the logic follows.

Ok, that makes sense. As I'm really after an angled box I think I'll stick to that to start unless I can get a cat back system on fleabay. If I can get the lot then I suppose I can mix and match until I find the noise I want then sell the rest.
