Isn't that the reason for mot inspections once over 3 years old.
Years ago it was quite common to have to change brake lines.
My old 1981 fiesta supersport needed them in 1988.
Sounds like a typical attitude of blame culture.

Changed them on a few peoples cars myself, remember changing them on a mk2 astra sri, a Cavaliar etc etc. "7 winters" sounds like something from an old fable

Already had my letter for the spec B, it's not actually the lines but a connector at the rear that sits above a splash guard which can cause salt build up and therefore corrosion. No cars on uk legacy have yet required more than a clean and a spray of Waxol.

Took the Spec B (2004) to Culverwells following the letter. All ok under there.
