WOW! Performance wasn't enough for you then? What BHP/torque did you have that you were not happy with!!!

I am wondering what to do next.....................................

Currently running around 330bhp / 320torque, it's been like that for a couple of years now and to be honest i was getting a bit bored with it, after doing the 30 - 130 sprint a few weeks back where the car seemed sooooo slow i thought sod it you only live once lets go for it, the engine is good for around 600bhp but i think i'll go for around 500bhp, it might be a bit laggy but i think it's going to be fun finding out

Interesting - mine's about the same but the other way round (320/330)! I suppose if you were doing that sprint, you were up against the "top end" of cars rather than your average family/daily use Scoob.

Sounds like a good reason to go for it! Good luck!

Wonder if you will reach take off speed before a Vulcan?

Yeah they were "top end" cars , there was a 30/40mph headwind all day which did slow most cars down anyway, my best time was 27 sec where Andy F did it in 7 sec , i know his car is a total speed machine so not really fair to compare the cars, if i had been able to get to 130 in forth (could only manage 127) then i could of easily knocked at least 5 sec off my time, was fun though and as i said you only live once so why not go for it

Been having a bit of a fettle with the front bumper as it didn't quite fit right after fitting the FMIC, APS supply templates for what you have to cut out of the bumper which were fine around the main opening but in the fog light area they weren't enough (maybe the wagon bumper is slightly different), so it was out with the dremel and cut away

The FMIC bar was also a nice place to mount a couple of my HID ballasts

Also trimmed of the opening for the FMIC with some edging trim and made a grille to give some protection for the FMIC

Without grille

With grille

I want my car back
Picked my car up from Zen yesterday after they had it for a month, it took a bit longer then expected as fitting a older type engine into a newage does bring up a few issues, also i had some other work done to it including fitting a PPG 5 speed helical gearset and a Helix uprated organic clutch so it's ready for the bigger turbo now

How does it drive
It drives very well, it has a slightly lumpy tickover but thats not a major problem, it still has my VF34 turbo on it at the moment and it's producing 346bhp & 345ft lbs, it's getting max boost of 1.65bar at around 3300rpm in 5th and the power seems a lot more progressive in it's delivery, on my old engine i would get a big kick from the turbo until around 6200rpm and then the power would just drop off but with this setup i still get a (not so big) kick but the power just continues until the redline of 7500rpm, looking at the dyno printout i have at the redline it's still producing 330bhp

Houston we have a problem
Unfortunately there are a couple of problems at the moment which hopefully Zen will be able to sort out
1st one is when your braking and dip the clutch the engine just wants to stall, it's doesn't stall all the time but the revs do get very low but if you dip the clutch without braking the revs will drop below normal tickover but build up straight away?
2nd is the engine light is on, Zen did fix this when i picked the car up but when i stopped for fuel and started the engine again it came back on
3rd is the cooling fans are turning on/off every few seconds

I'm sure these are just teething problems and Zen will be able to fix ASAP, can't wait to get hold of Eurekas turbo now and see what it goes like with that on

My K-Sport 330mm 6 pot rear brakes have finally been fitted after getting the wrong kit first time around, fitting went fine apart from a couple of bolts that were a bit too long (nothing a blunt hacksaw blade couldn't fix )

Also fitted Ferodo 2500 brake pads front & rear as the standard pads supplied with these kits aren't really up to the job when doing track days, even though i've got to bed the pads in they already feel a lot better and can't wait to use them in anger

Must say a big thank you to Paul at Zen who had a fiddle with the car today and it runs much better , doesn't stall anymore and he adjusted the off boost running a bit which has made it feel much smoother

Also had a catch can fitted with a drain to sump kit

Just need the turbo now to round things off

"No more mods"... Granby, talk sense man.

Look at me. I gave up ownership for 9 months and could not stand being out of the loop any longer.

So what am I doing right now (no mucky comments please)?

Looking for cheap crystal indicators/side/front lights on E-bay. Not to mention a de-cat classic centre... oh and some brake stuff as the current ones are not great.

I've got this 3rd Wagon on the understanding (with the wife) I'll not mod it... yeah pull the other one!

We are... Modders to Death

J.

Ian if you mail Mark at Leteral with the serial on your blower he will be able to give you an exact spec of that particular build...should be able to work out what power it will make on your 2.0

Done a couple of little mods over the last few weeks

1. gone back to the original WRX bonnet scoop as the STi one is not needed now with the FMIC

2. used the original o/s fog light surround for a cold air feed for the APS induction kit, not sure what it's gonna be like when it rains though, might also do the n/s one as well as i think it looks a bit one sided the way it is at the moment

Ian have a read of this...I'm still concerned about your choice of blower on a 2.0...321S is optimised for 2.5's so will not spool as quickly on your car. tell me to mind me own business if i'm interfering...only I know someone who got stuck with the 321S when he wanted to upgrade as its quite an old turbo. so this could save you a bit of hassle later

I thought "ejector seats". Now I will have to think of something else!!!

The one on the left may be for emptying the thrusting duct. Not good positioning though - liklihood of pressing the wrong one when driving.

Oh! Just had a word with the Squadron boffins. They are for the heated seats!!!!!

Red for heating up, and green for cooling down. Smart!

Climate Cup Holder controls like on the Audi Q5/Q7 ?

Red button to heat your beverage to a max of 59oc and a green button to cool your beverage to 3oc. Only £100 optional extra on the Q5/Q7. Deffo having one of those.... if I can find the other £28000 to buy a Q5.

Failing that are they for..

1) NOS?
2) Diff?
3) Water injection?
4) Some other injection mounted on the front mount?
5) Flamer?
6) Cloak?
7) Revolving number plate?
8) Oil slick
9) Missiles?
10) Change the colour of my wheels while in motion to green or red?

They have had looms made up, the plug and play solaris is still a little while off and anyway there is nothing wrong with Simtek's

i guess Jag's must be a cusom jobbie then..nowt wrong with Simtek's, lots of people using them with great results. i just like the active knock control, data logging and multiple map options...i understand you can also use it to control DCCD in conjunction with LC

Well had the MD321S fitted yesterday and a Simtek with anti lag & launch control fitted and mapped by JGM today, had a little problem with a sensor but a couple of phone calls later (cheers Eureka) and that was sorted

Managed to get 432bhp & 380ft lbs at 1.5 bar, they did try 1.7 bar but something was holding the car back which wouldn't let it release any more power, after talking to Simon & Charlie it seems the the exhaust (still a 2.5" system) could be the problem so it looks like i'm after a full 3" system now

Haven't really had a chance to test it yet but the car does seem a lot smoother, did boot it a couple of times and if i'm honest it didn't seem that much faster but i was in quite heavy traffic so will give it another try when nothing is around

Thought i'd post up a pic of my engine bay after having all the work done

The APS intercooler kit comes with red pipes which i thought didn't look right in my engine bay so i decided to spray them black for a more stealthy look, unfortunately i run out of spray paint so couldn't do the APS induction pipe

Before

After

Decided to change the air filter that came with the APS induction pipe as it looked a bit small and had seen better days, couldn't fit the new filter on the induction pipe so had to use a nice big piece of silicon hose with a 45 degree bend

Standard filter in the wheel arch

New filter against the old

New filter in the wheel arch

Filter should get plenty of cold air through the fog light cover

Had the car mapped again for the 3" exhaust and it made a grand total of 2bhp more (434bhp)
Seems i have a slight misfire which is holding it back, gonna try a new set of spark plugs and see how that goes
