Default How long have you owned a scooby?

There's a thread running on scoobynet at the moment asking how long peeps have owned thier car. Incredibly there are some that bought classics from new in 97/98 and still own them, which got me thinking who has owned there's the longist on here.

Mine: Owned for 3.5 years with a few mods along the way. No plans to change it, just garage it and get a German runaround lol. Then let the serious modding begin!. Previous 04 WRX for 2 years.

Me, 2 years now. Coming up to sell it though as need something cheaper to insure. No mods added to whats already there, just lots of repairs and maintenance! Don't think people will like what im planning on getting next!

Had my current one for five and a half years and the one before for 2 years.

So getting on for 8 years of scooby ownership in total.

It has cost a shilling or two.

Hmmmm

Sep 2001 > Mar 2004 - MY99 Wagon - 2y 6m
Apr 2004 > Sep 2008 - MY04 Wagon - 4y 5m

...a small break...

Jun 2009 > Present day - MY00 Wagon - 0y 8m

An ownership total of 7 years 7 months, but nowhere near some people on this forum. Scott and Keith come to mind.

This is my 6 scoob, we brought it back in Feb 2007, and the wagon in June 2009.

But this will be my last ones now, need a change of project maybe, but I change my mind like the weather

1st; '96 Legacy GT 22nd Sept. '08 > 17th Nov. '08 - chewed a piston and spat a con rod through the block. Seven weeks of ownership and cost me £2000 to buy and replace what needed doing before failing like that epically

2nd; '98 Legacy GT-B 11th Nov. '09 > date

PS: Do I qualify for a prize for having a Scooby the shortest amount of time (the first one)

Allowing access to company cars, wifes car, brother cars and my own. Remember driving a different car each day of the week and on some days driving 2.

Shortest owned non scoob from bought to actually sold was the 964 C4 porsche which lasted 12 days. Cost me £18K and hated it at the time.

As cracking as scoobs are the thought of owning any car more than a couple of years/months. Sends shivers down my spine, and I start to get DT's just thinking about it. So hats of to you die hard long term scoob owners.

So far since monday I've driven 4 cars (+ the Scoob to the meet on Sunday) so I expect it to total 5 for the week.

1. BMW to work and back (Monday)
2. Ang's Clio (to the garage Wed)
3. A mates Rover (home Wed)
-Rover (to the garage Thur)
4. Micra (loaner home Thur)
-Micra (to garage Fri)
-Clio home (Friday)
-BMW to Hants tomorrow
5. Scoob to the meet on Sunday

That doesn't include the Lotus, various Scoobs and Land Rovers, etc I drove at the workshop
