Default Project 2 :)

Project 2 (P2) (This is not the P2 thread. That will appear in due course)

Finally,.......... after months of negotiations, pondering & much involvement P2 has been sorted.
Word got around about P2 and I have considered many options. Paul & Andy made contact months prior to selling the Zen Performance race car, Andy Forest’s car (and as some already know) RCM’s Team Ice car. All three were seriously considered together with more and I have decided that a new race car will be built.

We have the shell which is a STi 4 RHD lightweight 2 door Type R shell. Fully plumbed fire system, Group N T45 fully welded cage, polycarbonate quick release side windows, bla bla bla bla.

Shell will be wide arched and painted in Audi diamond white and written with sponsors. All works will be carried out by S.P.R. Coachworks based in Uckfield.

Engine build is commencing this week by an independent. The motor will be built new & from scratch. We are not pushing for silly power due to the nature of events planned. The first dyno run will produce between six hundred and six hundred & fifty Bhp. The engine will be built to a higher spec in readiness for future power increases if required.
There was talk of a new 2.6 Cosworth CDB which would have been the first choice however we have now heard of issues resulting in delay.

Management will be through Solaris.

The balance & grip of my P1 is very impressive and for that reason we are opting for the same suspension.

Turbo will be either GT35 or 40 incorporating the new RCM kit. RCM will also be used for many parts.

The whole project shouldn’t take that long as the shell works & engine build are being done at the same time by two different outfits.

Intend to use the car for track / hill climbs / Scooby Shoot Out / TOTB and such like. Will have a year getting used to the car and finding it’s limits with an aim to enter 2012 Time Attack.

Both the engine & shell are being well documented by photos and the P2 thread will commence in a few weeks on Scoobynet – Projects, & going by my P1 Project thread which started as a small half page & now at 122,000 hits over 123 pages, it should be a laugh with all the banter & stick I had (in a friendly way). 

Will keep you posted.

Sounds like it will be a beast of a car, dont know much about these cars, just what I have learnt being on forums etc as I am not to confident on mechanics but, I will watch with interest and maybe learn a thing or two as I have from the likes of Jaffa/Brad/Dyney/Anger and a few many more.

Good luck on what you aim to achieve Clive and look forward to seeing the P1 on sunday buddy.

Thanks guys.

This one should prove interesting to many as it's going to be documented well with photos of the entire engine build and fitment, all at home in a garage.

The P1 thread gave guys an incite into having a Scoob built by a top end tuner.
I realise that it generated much interest and for that reason P2 has a very realistic budget.
We are going to try & build the complete car for 25K which still may sound expensive, but I will look at it as a good result bearing in mind the P1 cost nearly three times that.

K-Sport opposed to AP racing, and Solaris opposed to the Motec 800 are two good examples of the way we have programmed to project. There has been much research that has gone on behind the scenes.

We are collecting the shell sometime next week and we have started to order the engine parts.

The thread will be documented from the start but we intend to get a few weeks in front before putting the P2 Project thread on Scoobynet.

I think 25k for a car that will compete in time attack is good value! Also think what you would need to spend to be able to beat THAT round a track!

I'm just envious...
