Yes the TD05 is better but gains will be dependanct on wether you go for the 16, 18, or 20g.

I'd say you will need a remap either way mate, if your ECU cant be mapped just get a new one off Fleabay and get that mapped

Td04 = 300 bhp max
Td05 = 350 bhp max

so yes its a better turbo for power and just look for a power fc/simtek to map it

Get the map sorted first, then build from there.

ok ,the problem i have is my car is a wrx import with about 250bhp,with a ecu + re map,td05 turbo,re fitting downpipe and new air intake ,oh and new injectors, i would have thought that lot should get me around 300bhp/320 bhp or do i sell and get the sti with better internals and 280bhp as standard

The STi should give you a better platform to work with. But it's as long as it's broad really.

Modding your WRX and getting it to 300 - 320 would be ultimately more satisfying. But changing for one thats well on the way to those figures will be very nice too.

6 of one, half a dozen of another really. All down to personal choice.

My sti is for sale mate running 300 bhp

On a serious note though it depends what condition your car is and what you've done to it. If you have spent a lot on your car and know its straight may be better working on that as you know exactly what youve got. You could go out and buy an sti to find that you have to spend loads just getting it ok to start modding, alternatively you could get a mint one but its a risk.
