Default Had the old girl rolling roaded today.

Headed up to surrey rolling road today,
managed 284.2bhp at 0.9bar.
its a 1994 wrx,
all standard apart from,full 3" system, hks filter,fuel reg,pump
and a chipped ecu,ported headers.

Is this a good power?
i was thinking maybe nearer 300bhp, still using a standard td05 and wrx tmic.

will say tho charley is a top guy really enjoyed myself.

Good power for 0.9bar not many get over 300hp even at 1.1bar which is what most chipped pre 96 Ecu run. 0.9bar is pretty stock boost tbh especially if a post Sept 94 model.

iam still using the daes device as didnt know what boost the ecu was set at,
i thought i had set it to 1bar but looking at the graph its only just under a bar.
so its a good result then for the old girl?

Good result that especially at just 0.9 bar - I got 292bhp from a 1994 wrx stock apart from decat, panel filter, and ESL live map, but was running about 1.2 bar

Simon- yes still the standard slanty wrx tmic.
ill post some pictures of the graphs and let you mapping wizzards tell me if it looks good, as i have no idea what they are telling me lol. also dont know what torque it made,
but was surprised it made 220bhp at the wheels what a loss!

Excuse the crappy pictures but you can sort of see them.

Simon/scott does the boost curve look ok as it seems to not be smooth?

Hi Mate
Good figures for the mods.
I made 276 when i had the very same mods, The slanty IC is pants, also standard injectors wont go much beyond where you are now.

All looks good, the slight dip in the torque amd power curve around 4500rpm could be the ecu pulling timing.

Seen 313 at most on that spec mapped, bit normally just 300 give or take a bit

But really needs fmic and injectors to make it worth you paying out for a map

Looks a little lean for a SRR plot, on a chipped Pre96 ECU.
I would expect it to be 10-10.5 on the rollers for a generic type chip, which is can be 11-11.5AFR on the road.

MAF may need a clean and the slightly leaner mix would account for the slight increase in power over what is expected and as simon mentioned a little bit of det causing the timing to be pulled as touch.

Boost looks fine

Agree fuelling looks more like a custom map fuelling which would be mapped to suit

If not already on a walbro pump it would be worth adding

Boost control looks very steady at 0.9bar - It flat lines when it gets to 0.9 bar and just stays there all the way to the red line. Would be good to get is to spike a little bit and then tail back to 0.9bar, which would increase the torque and make it feel that more quicker.

Was that boost on a DAWES device ?. If so its doing very well at controlling the boost.

I've currently got one fitted to mine which I am trying out, but its peaking too high and the higher gears are causing the car to boost higher than i would like in 4th/5th.

I would up the pressure slightly to 3.1-3.2bar in light of the slight pull back in the power and torque curve and slightly richer shouldnt hurt.
