Sea Fishing (Beach)

Does anyone on here sea fish at all? (off the beach, not boat)

I used to alot, thinking of starting up again after going mackerel fishing the other day. Why do you ask?

Yep me too seeing as the sea is at the end of my garden , bagged plenty of mackerel and a couple of nice bass so far

Father in law lives in bBishopstone and fishes seafood / newhaven regularly. Can always ask him as local knowledge for him. He fishes for a club in seafood and with the Bricklayers around Eastbourne .

Good fishing Normans bay - cooden though alices pipe is a good spot if you fancy Eastbourne way....

I used to fish the Newhaven breakwater a lot, it's a great spot. I've had a 15lb conger, more mackerel than you could imagine, a few lobster, stacks of flatties and a fair few decent bass. One bass that went 12 1/2lb.

The biggest thing I hooked there though......



















..... was a 12 stone diver

I used to go to dunginess all th etime, used to stop at pevensey to dig lug.
Not been for years now.
I am well up for going again .

Normans bay, as Ron said is worth a go.
Or some mackerel bashing of newhaven wall, only you have to climb over the gate nowadays .

I use a 3 hook rig with combo of fresh lug some stinkys and king rag, seem to be a good all rounder down the bay !

I've been fly fishing for bass and mackerel at Shoreham and Newhaven.A mackerel on a #5 fly rod is cracking fun.
