Default Front mounted turbos?

Haven't seen many imprezas about (especially in the uk) with Front mounted turbos, does anyone know much about them?

Pro's and Con's?

On the plus side I'm led to believe there supposed to reduce turbo lag, are there any other benefits?

And on the negative it looks like a lot of work and cost involved!?
