Default Bug knocking on bumps
Hi guys, got this bug and it's knocking it's tits off on bumps , jacked it up and had a poke around, nothing loose, looking out of place, the anti roll bar lnkscsre fine,

One thing is apply the brakes and instant goes away now it's a very loud knock , like the top mounts about to drop threw lol. Does this sound like shocks knackard ?

If you reverse slowly over some bumps does it still do it?

if so it may well be the shocks are knackered.

My old bug sti used to do it it turned out to be the exhaust knocking on the rear subframe

Rear shocks.
Stick a few bags of rubble in the boot to get it to over compress. See if the noise goes.
This will confirm there's a wear spot on the damper and it's catching on the grease shield.

Mine had a similar noise, it turned out tobe the front nearside drop link on the ARB had rotated and was knocking, just turned it round on its ball joints job done. (not sure if yours is anything like mine)

I'm not sure if the bug had them but Blob WRX onwards used 40mm inverted dampers similar to the STi. Therefore Front or Back will suffer the usual wear and knocking noises.

Easy enough to check by jacking up and lifting the dust cover to check the damper. Below shows the quite obvious differences.

Cheers guys it's either too mounts, shocks or ball joints I'm going to get Jaffa to have a butcher, I jacked it up and had a look about seemed all straight on arb etc. I need it sorting ASAP as so loud

Dropped the car of at RDS today,
turns out to be calliper's where loose from when the clutch was done last month,
so happy as pigs in *****
