Its not only the clutch plate but the clutch cover also - its the cover that can have an uprated clamping force, hence the clutch plate will handle more power.

So the same clutch plate could handle 300 Lbft or, say 400 Lbft depending on the cover.

I have an API uprated Exedy 5speed coverplate and 7kg lightened flywheel for sale - the clutch plate is worn out unfortunately.

It started slipping at 400Lbft and approc 430HP. I have been told these Exedy clutch plates are all the same, its the uprated cover that is the difference and cost difference.

The friction plate in an uprated Exedy Organic are different to the standard versions, as is the clutch cover.

The Valeo one in the link wouldn't be recommended, nor would a standard Exedy organic friction plate.

Unfortunately the uprated friction plates are no longer available on their own.

At 350bhp you'll be wanting an uprated Exedy organic clutch kit to be assured of holding the power. Mine took a lot of drag abuse and they last very well.

This is the kit you would want: Exedy Uprated Organic Clutch Kit - Aztec Performance Online - Official Exedy UK Stockists

Any questions, feel free to give me a shout.

I have a new still boxed Excedy Stage 1 from Lateral in the garage, could be yours for £250 (with lateral receipt) collect from Hastings if thats any use.

Was going to fit to mine but strangley the clutch stopped slipping, so I cancelled the booking for it to be fitted and it's been sat in the garage ever since.

I think I may of polished or high spotted the friction plate when the Brembo's siezed on in the garage and had to give it plenty to reverse out onto the drive. Problem now seems to of gone away. Hence Excedy never fitted.
