You may or may not be aware, but we have a group of us going to the Nurbrgring at the end of may.
After some tentative enquiries, a group of us were looking into doing a bulk buy of Octane boost. Now, the obvious choice is good old Millers, it's the one we all know. But having a look through your website you do a bardahl version. What can you tell us about this and how does it stack up against Millers? If things stack up and we can get a good group buy deal, we may well come to you for this ![]() |

I have not used the Millers so I cannot comment on their product. To be honest I don't want to discuss other brands because I don't have all the up to date information for all products. I get irritated when people make uninformed statements about Bardahl products.
Every Bardahl product I have ever used has worked and given me extremely pleasing results. I would be pleased to offer members a bulk buy for any Bardahl products. I use the Bardahl BSF Octane boost (page 10 in the car brochure) in my race car because the engine requires 102 RON fuel. I purchase Shell 99 and add the octane boost to get the 3 RON increase. A one litre tin treats 330 litres of fuel. The Retail price is £122.50 plus VAT Bardahl also do a "more handy" octane boost which comes in a 300ml one dose tin which treats 40 litres for up to 5 points increase. A 70 litre tank would make an increase of just below 3 points if one can is used, which should be ideal. The product information for the 300ml tins is below: The Retail price is £9.96 plus VAT. I have supplied Jimmy at JS Engineering with Bardahl octane boost and in due course he will be stocking it along with other Bardahl products. Bardahl Octane Booster is an easy-to-use gasoline additive that increases theoctane rating of gasoline. It does not contain lead or aniline and will work in leaded orunleaded gasoline. Due to its unique chemistry, Bardahl Octane Booster does not have the highly toxic properties of other well-established octane enhancing products. The problem Many vehicles on the road today were designed to use gasoline’s with octane ratingshigher than commonly available. When these vehicles use too low octane fuel, engine ‘knock’ occurs, warning motorists of poor fuel combustion, loss of power and potential engine damage. Even in vehicles designed to run on lower octane gasoline, after-run and engine ‘knock’ can occur, due to the build-up of deposits in the combustion chamber. The action Deposits in the combustion chamber, improper timing or too low an octane fuel are all causes of engine ‘knock’. Combustion chamber deposits can also result in afterrun or continued combustion of gasoline after the engine is shut down. Periodic tune-up of gasoline spark-ignition engines will assure proper timing of spark plug firing and prevent this cause of engine ‘knock’. Engine deposits can alter the effective compression ratio of an engine as well as be an unwanted source of ignition. Such deposits can cause pre-ignition and detonation. Pre-ignition is ignition of the gasoline/air mixture before the spark plug ignites this mixture and results in ‘knock’. Detonation can also be result from use of too low an octane fuel for an engine. The use of Bardahl Octane Booster increases gasoline octane and brings about a controlled, more uniform gasoline combustion, reducing knock from pre-ignition and detonation. Bardahl Octane Booster’s action also inhibits after-run due to combustion chamber deposits.
