Water bowser was out every hour or so but wasn't too bad dust-wise unless you were standing under the trees by the before the start line. Wind kept most of the dust off the parking field which helped

I watched the last race, then went straight back to the car and left. Was out on the main road within about 10 minutes, so not bad at all. Easy run home other than the 20 minute queue on the M2 caused by someone face-planting their Corsa into the back of a Honda CRV....

Doesn't take long to dump them from the camera to photobucket, and filter out the crap ones. It only takes time if you start tweaking this, cropping that. And i couldn't be bothered with any of that this evening!

And some the the racing was a bit too close to call it 'racing'. Everyone ganged up on Tanner Foust in the final and kept punting him off

Cool, I was parked in the field above the pits last year. I ended up locking the car back up and having another wander round the pits, as just wasn't moving. Took an hour + to get out.

Ha, I find even that part takes me a few days!

I was surprised by Foust as I was expecting him to be fast enough to qualify for the "A" Final on times alone. I thought he got pushed around a bit in the "B" Final, but thats rallycross!

"A" Final positions were:

1. Sverre Isachsen (N), Ford Focus Mk2 T16 4x4
2. Marc Laboulle (F), Citroën C4 T16 4x4
3. Davy Jeanney (F), Citroën C4 T16 4x4
4. Liam Doran (GB), Citroën C4 T16 4x4
5. Timur Timerzyanov (RUS), Citroën C4 T16 4x4
6. Toomas Heikkinen (FIN), SAAB 9-3 ASS T16 4x4

It was a good win from Isachsen, but Laboulle was seriously quick. I believe this year will be his first full year in the ERC, it was his first time at Lydden and he was already well on the pace, so he's definately one to watch this year. Pity Liam couldn't fight for a win on home turf but his car was running like a bag of crap in the "A" final.

Looking at the quality of the drivers and cars entered in the ERC this year, getting into the "B" Final will be an achievement. I was amazed to see some of the bigger names fighting it out there rather then in the "A".

The more I see of the Mk.7 rallycross Fiesta's, the more I like them over the older Mk.6 rallycross Fiesta ST's, as you say, they just look ****ing mean!

Just need Ford to start producing road going 4wd 500 BHP wide arch Fiesta's now...

Great pics Steve

The cars have changed so much in a few years. But it does make for better & closer racing IMHO.

Yeah, I agree. Its a shame the regulations for the European Rallycross Championship don't allow older cars to compete, but the relatively short homologation period seems to keep the development of new cars moving forward and means the slightly older stuff filters down to the drivers with lesser budgets quicker.
