Went to see it today.
Somehow it seemed to have a bigger presence than the GT86. It has some nicer trim (IMHO). The silver car was gorgeous (and the silver BRZ)!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Nice pics Keith, did you take the BRZ out for a drive?
Any noticeable differences to the toyota? |

I don't like it in silver.
B&C had one in silver which I drove, didn't look right to me. Lovely little car to drive though. ![]() |

I recall you saying, the silver looked flat / dull.

The interior looks pretty swish, although the heater vents look like Charing Cross to me:

Nothing to different. The Toyota has slightly bigger disc's & bigger end cans. So Toyota said. Mind you in the booklet they also have it down as an in line four. Ha! Ha! Nice car handles well. My bike has more bhp. Needs Sti type power to make the best of that Handling.

Stereo looks like an afterthought. Why don't they nake these more integral like every other manufacturer has been doing for the last 10 years

But then there won't be much room in the boot for the shopping if you're carrying a big sub around ![]() |

Au contraire. The boot is a decent size I think.
Mind you... depends how big the sub is. Also, I used to have a 350Z, so by comparison most things win... could get a week's shopping in the 350 though. |

Probably because they expect the target market are likely to wish to mod the sound system to taste, Alpine, Kenwood screens etc

Sound system a bit of a letdown, according to the salesman. I was interested in the engine sound, which was not bad at high revs.
The suspension is tweaked differently to the Toyota, but not had an opportunity to understand the effects on the road. Once that silver one is sold, there won't be another at Culverwells until March! ![]()

Surely they'd be better off knocking a few grand off the list price, and trying to shift a load more units? |

As explained to me, Subaru want to be a bit more "exclusive". Also, the deal with Toyota means they have priority (maybe put in most of the funding?). The Jap domestic market take up for the BRZ has been significantly more than expected and is satisfied first. In the US, Subaru sales for the whole range are up by a third over 2011 and so they will be satisfied before us but after the Japs. In some European countries where the BRZ is on sale, there are apparently not even demonstrators!!
A very missed opportunity if you ask me. Not enough units to go round. ![]()

Does sound like it Keith.
Maybe Subaru UK took the 'once bitten, twice shy' approach after they struggled to shift the hatchback units in 2008 and had many of them sitting around for months. |

Saw one of them in white a few weeks ago, really like it once seeing it in the flesh

It's a plan to keep people keen. The same happend with the RX8. People bought on the looks when they were released. Now you can pick them up for pushbike money. You can't have a good looking car without decent performance. They just don't work.

I don't think they need much more power personally. I certainly don't think a turbo would suit it.
The wait is a joke. I was flabbergasted when I was told at B&C I wouldn't be able to get one until March. |
