I propose then that Tim has a morning slot then the 1st available afternoon slot This should be around 13:45 - 14:00, so should be off home around 14:15 latest.

Wagon_si also takes this first afternoon slot and Greg jumps in his earlier one.

cheers

555_Si 04-04-2013 03:02 PM

fine with me Scott.

Charlie 04-04-2013 03:31 PM

SpecB 04-04-2013 03:53 PM

Yes and mentioned above,

I'll be coming along to watch this now as I didn't realise I'd booked the day off for a party in the evening! Should be a good day :-)

Message From Organisers

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Welcome from the organisers of the Goodwood Track Day which is due to take place at the historic circuit on Saturday the 13th of April. You will find several documents enclosed which have been provided by Goodwood as the ‘Venue’ to us as the ‘Organisers’. Please take the time to read through, with particular reference to the rules. You will be required to sign the driver’s rules declaration on the Sat morning prior to taking part as will all passengers. Please note the minimum age limit for passengers at the circuit.

Our aim is to put on a safe and fun day on and off the track. The Goodwood team are extremely experienced, as you would imagine, so no question is too stupid on the day. We are aiming to get 6 cars on track for 5 lap sessions which will allow 30 laps per ticket throughout the day. So plan on 3 sessions am and 3 pm. You will be allocated a Grid Number (1 through to 6) at some point prior to going on track. This should be displayed in your vehicle as soon as it is made available to you. Grids will run from 1 through to 6 and then be repeated so it will be easy to keep track of your slot.

Helmets will be required: they will be available for hire on the day if you do not possess one. If you have any doubt about the integrity of your helmet then I suggest that you hire one. A long sleeve top and trousers will also be compulsory.

The programme for the day will be in outline:

Each 'Track Pass' entitles the purchaser to upto 30 laps (predicited) split into 6 sessions of 5 laps.
3 Sessions in the morning and 3 Sessions in the afternoon.

For those of us sharing 'Track Passes' your 2 sessions are expected to be 5-laps each.
With 1 session in the morning and 1 in the afternoon.

I am not sure if the 5-laps include a warm-up / run-down. Fingers crossed it will be 7 laps.

0800
Arrival and Noise Testing
First 3 Grids will be nominated in advance for priority testing. Noise limit is 105db. No refunds.

0845
Briefing and Sign On
Noise testing will resume on completion

0900
Track familiarisation – all cars participating will be required to be led for 3 laps behind a pace car to make the optimum use of their track time Emphasis will be on lines and turn-in points

o/c -1230
Track is live. Grids line up in Pit Lane and in assembly area in number order
0930 - 1030 Period 1 : Groups 1 - 6 (6 cars per Group, 36 cars total)
1030 - 1130 Period 2 : Groups 1 - 6 (6 cars per Group, 36 cars total)
1130 - 1230 Period 3 : Groups 1 - 6 (6 cars per Group, 36 cars total)

1230
Lunch. Live Track suspended. Cars will be given opportunity to form up on start finish straight for group photograph.
There will only be one group photograph. Opportunity to go to Sainsbury for fuel if required.

1330
Circumnavigate track at 50mph led by Track Marshal to clear after photograph

o/c - 1700
Track live. Grids rotate through pit lane
1400 - 1500 Period 4 : Groups 1 - 6 (6 cars per Group, 36 cars total)
1500 - 1600 Period 5 : Groups 1 - 6 (6 cars per Group, 36 cars total)
1600 - 1700 Period 6 : Groups 1 - 6 (6 cars per Group, 36 cars total)

Parade laps may be offered at the end of the day depending on progress.

The one going is mine- not the red one. Track prepped is a bit generous too - there's still lots of work to be done!

One thought - will I need to be in a different group to Wagon Si as he kindly agreed to swap his morning slot? I may be misinterpreting how the running order is working?

Really looking forward to this and wishing I could stay longer! Will be great to see the scoobs in action. I'm not sure how strict they'll be on cameras as its a charity day, but hoping to use the gopro.

majorscooby 09-04-2013 06:50 PM

Anybody going down from the Kent area?

Would like to meet up with some peeps before the run into goodwood.

We will work it out on the day.
I'm not sure how we are going to be allocated to the groups i.e whether we are all in individual groups (of the 1 - 6) or if we have 1 or more scoobies per group.

I think they will split us up a bit in order to keep the average noise level down per group, as I expect we will be some of the quieter ones in amongst the noisy TVR's
